Another winner from Jane Porter. This is book 5 of the Taming of the Sheenans series. You can’t go wrong with a Sheenan brother. A lovely Christmas story of hope, love, trust, and the magic of believing. Definitely will be on my Holiday rereads every year.
This is Cormac's story. Cormac is a ruthless business man, who transplanted to California from Montana. He became an instant Dad, when he becomes guardian to a little girl, Daisy, when her parents are killed. Whitney is Daisy's godmother and former girlfriend of Cormac. A situation arises that causes Cormac to reconsider is life. He moves his company and himself back to Montana. Cormac is an true alpha male, he is fiercely protective, a man of action but few words. Whitney wants nothing to do with him, but she wants to have a relationship with Daisy.
I loved how this story had so many story layers and the way they all blended together very nicely. It is a story about second chances, forgiving, and believing in miracles and Santa.
I know this will be a story I will read again. It is a perfect curl up in front of the fireplace (if you have one) with a cup of hot cocoa and just lose yourself into the story kind of book. I found it heart-warming and a perfect Christmas read.
I loved the dynamics between Whitney and Cormac. And I love how much Daisy changed the people around her. Everyone just wanted what was best for Daisy. She had been through so much when she lost her parents at such a young age. This was a very warm and emotional story and I loved every minute of it, even when Cormac was being a grinch about Kris (Santa).
With faith, hope, and love sometimes miracles can happen.
