What I didn't like was how much time the main characters spend avoiding what they feeling for each other and practically wait for the last chapter (and epilogue) to confess it all and boom, the book is over.
Also, something that bothered me was how Chase & Julia's daughter's name changed... I thought she was named Maggie (she was Maggie for 4 books!!) and now she's suddenly Gabby? I don't know if that was an editor mistake or the author forgot the name or maybe now they have Maggie and Gabby as daughters? But that was weird.

So this is book six in a lovely, easy read series - I cannot say there is no drama, there is but it is mainly emotional drama which is beautifully written and manages to create the deep emotion without making the characters seem weak or needy and without depressing you not saying there won't be tears, as both Addie and Drew brought a tear to my eye on more than one occasion but it is a sweet tear, not a sad one.
I can honestly say having read all six books in the series there is only one character I have found weak or easy to dislike and that is Mayor Mayberry (and I am sure she will eventually be brought down to size) - all others may be broken with HUGE cases full of emotional baggage from their difficult pasts but joining them on their journey to true love and watching them grow in confidence as the book progresses gives a lovely, warm, feel good holiday glow.
Reading the rest of the series will give you an insight into the background cast....but is not essential to enjoy this book, so try it now, join them in Shadow Creek for a couple of hours and let Bella, Addie and Drew warm your heart.
It is a perfect read for a cold, wintery evening or a quiet Sunday afternoon, longer than a novella but I read it in just over 2 hours.
