This book offers hope during a time that is darker than usual for many people. The stories are inspirational and each one offers a unique perspective and affirms that there is something else out there, something wonderful and beautiful and good.
This book offers comfort and warmth and good cheer and I plan to purchase multiple copies to give as Christmas gifts to people I care about and who can benefit from the uplifting stories in this book.
Edit: One of the writers found my review unhelpful (I wonder why) and left a comment. Please notice that some reviews of the book were written by author's friends and stories' writers (some provided disclaimers). Personally I found stories in this book completely uninspiring and shared my honest opinion with prospective buyers. And In the future I will only buy Guidepost books when I crave miracle stories and renewed faith.
Thanks so much to Revell Publishing for sending me this book to review.
Not really sure as to the answer to that question. I believe in Angels, I believe that God sometimes answers heartfelt prayers in a positive manner and that often at Christmastide, we seem to find more evidence of that than any other time of the year. Perhaps, this book was too much of a good thing. Perhaps I had a hard time really seeing the miraculous in some the writers accounts of receiving their acts of grace. Perhaps it's because it's a Christmas book that I read in Ordinary Time.
Or perhaps, it's because I believe there is a certain amount of human goodness that spills forth in times of trial; when we see our blessings magnified when compared to those whose lot is misfortune.
Bottom line, do YOU want to purchase and read this work? Why not, if its premise appeals to you. It's easy to pickup, read a few pages, put down and pick back up at a later time. It offers a lot of redemption if that's what you're seeking. My only complaint would be that sometimes the goodness of one's heart is assigned to God alone and although He created us, He put that love in our hearts to FREELY share and that should be recognized as what it is rather than just a "miracle" from God.
