Matayo has once again written a story that captivates the readers attention from the moment the story begins. This book will make you giggle, tug at your heartstrings, and sometimes make you want to crawl into the book and slug a character.
*I was provided a copy of the book by the author. All opinions in this review are my own.
Amy Matayo has put together a sweet Christmas romance with lots of humor, drama, and wonderful verbal banter between the two main characters.
There’s even some deep thoughts throughout this book. Here’s a couple quotes I find captures the whole message in this book. “We all need to find a way to keep living and moving forward no matter what life hands us….Life moves forward with or without us. It’s our choice whether to hang back and let it leave or buckle ourselves in and enjoy the ride.”
I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend everyone to read it!
I was given this book by the author for an honest review, all opinions are my own.
I wasn't sure I was going to like Rory. She's a supermodel, who at first glance seemed very high maintenance and stuck-up. But it soon became apparent that that was not the case at all. She's incredibly likeable and even somewhat relatable. And Colt... oh goodness! Just like Rory, I wasn't sure I was gonna like him either. He came off as a jerk in the beginning. But it wasn't long before I warmed up to him. He had many hidden layers and was trying his best to change. This novella was an excellent reminder that first impressions are more often than not deceiving.
Christmas at Gate 18 was a fantastic Christmas novella that had me cracking up with laughter from beginning to end. I highly recommend!
Christmas at Gate 18 was full of great dialogue (Amy's specialty), romance and a little intrigue since we didn't really find out about Colt and what his story was until the end. But the development between the two characters Rory and Colt was perfect. I like how they had met in the past but it wasn't their "time" yet to truly meet and be together. And Rory wasn't your typical super model which made her even more intriguing and Colt being somewhat a playboy, swearing off women one morning, to then fall for the real thing led me to definitely give this 5 stars.
Slight spoiler alert so you can decide whether to read or not: there's no intimacy between the couple but they do sleep in a small bed together. He's a bit handsy. He often refers to the skimpy bikini she's wearing in the magazine. His thoughts about her (and there are plenty) are on the lustful side but not straight out crude.

A cute, quick, somewhat fluffy read. A sweet rom-com with a bit of depth and some swoony kisses.
