This is the first book in Two Love Lane series. I fell in love with the characters right from the beginning! Macy and Deacon are thrown together due to a series of events part intentional and behind the scenes matchmaking. The other women she works with at the dating service company they all own helped put the plan in motion. Which she finds out late in the book and puts her in a tailspin. She was falling for him on her own accord. Deacon, her coworkers, and matches she was setting for Deacon were all conspiring against her. You will have to read it to see how it ends!!!!

Big shot Yankee business man travels to Charleston. As a Christmas gift to his 'aunt who raised him' Deacon promises(with his fingers crossed behind his back) to try to find someone to love while he is in town. So he goes to Two Love Lane where 3 women have a successful match making agency. Deacon does not want a match. Absolutely. After much finagling Macy agrees to set up dates for Deacon but agrees (with her fingers crossed behind her back) not to match make. Much behind the scene manipulation by their friends. Great story, great setting, great characters. My favorite is George.

Great first book in the series. Fabulous setting, pacing, characters, and a story that wasn't so easy to predict. This one is a bit towards the sweet side of things, which I didn't mind in the least.

I look forward to continuing the Two Love Lane series and for those looking for something to get them in the holiday mood, this book does just that.

I wouldn't buy another book by Kieran Kramer.

Deacon's aunt wants him to serious consider meeting someone and finally settling down. But he's seen what settling down with the wrong person can do to a man and his bachelor lifestyle is still too fun and carefree for him to blindly risk it all on the elusive thing called love. Instead he compromises and sets out to serial date for a few weeks while his wild and brash aunt finds her footing in the very southern little town of Charleston, South Caroline.

Two Love Lane is the best matchmaking agency around and enlisting their expert services to find Deacon suitable dates, seems the perfect plan, except for the tiny problem that his matchmaker, Macy, instantly becomes the only woman Deacon wants on his arm.

Macy, descendant of the legendary Cupid, believes whole heartedly that true love and soul mates exist and is determined to show Deacon that real love is better then living your life aimlessly, waiting on the next rush. Instead she bets she can change his mind.

With the holiday spirit bringing out good cheer and merriment, Deacon and Macy find themselves pulled by a strong physical connection. But will either one be brave enough to voice out loud their own fears and insecurities for a chance to explore the emotions binding them so tightly together?
In the mist of well wishes, good friends and southern charm, Deacon and Macy each have to come to terms with their own actions and finally see the little Christmas miracle that will finally bring them together.

My thoughts
The writing style took a bit of getting use to. It felt like the author was going a mile a minute with Macy. She was like the Energizer Bunny. Non. Stop. Even her inner dialogue felt like it gave me whiplash. Once I finally got the hang of her perkiness, things found a certain rhythm. Deacon was a solid character, his relationship with his aunt was really great. They weren’t your average family unit but they were closer them most. I loved Frannie, Deacon’s aunt. She was such a sassy character, a bit blunt and loud but so lively and entertaining. She ended up stealing the lime light every time she made an appearance. I loved her and Freddie together. Their secondary love story was a bonus.

This one was definitely a slow burn. Deacon and Macy do a lot of dancing around each other. While Macy tries to keep things professional, Deacon is focused solely on showing Macy how good it could be between them, if only she lets him. It a tug-a-war for who will outlast the other. If you enjoy a story with a sweet friends to lovers vibe and a lot of back and forth can’t-seem-to-make-up-their-minds drama with a bit of Christmas cheer thrown in, this cutesy story will be right up your alley.

Macy Frost entertains the idea that she is a distant descendant of Cupid. The story has passed through the family and she is quite a matchmaker – so much so that she owns a matchmaking business with a few of her friends. They even developed an algorithm for compatibility. So when a client who wants dates, but not an HEA walks in, she brushes him off. But something about him makes her want to take the job – the matchmaker within is intrigued and maybe she can find Mrs. Right for the resistant client. Sparks fly and the attraction between the two continues to ignite at every interaction. Macy believes she isn’t cut out for a match, but the algorithm says otherwise. Problem is, a bad situation in childhood has given her a sour taste towards love and even though she matches people for a living, she might not be able to break down her own walls enough to see that her chance is right in front of her. Even if she could, Deacon has a much better reinforced wall than she does.

Deacon Banks – super rich, super hot, super unavailable for a long-term relationship. His Aunt is on his case to settle down, so he agrees – as a Christmas gift to her – to go on several blind dates. Enter Macy’s matching service. Deacon makes it perfectly clear that he likes his lifestyle as is. Except Macy stirs something in him and before too long, all of the “blind-dates” have conspired with him to get Macy to stand in for them each time. Deacon knows he’s feeling something unexplained, more than he’s ever felt for anyone before when it comes to Macy – but admitting just what that is, beyond s couple of phenomenal hookups, is going to be quite a feat. The ramifications of deep feelings are not something either of them are prepared to face.

What a seriously cute book! Set around Christmas time, you could definitely make use of it to help get you in the holiday mood – but I think it would be enjoyable any time of year. I enjoyed all of the excuses and ploys used to force Macy to stand in as Deacon’s date. And Macy and her friends add such an extraordinary amount of Southern charm to this story, you can’t help but wish they were your friends too. I was sucked in to their world quickly and found myself liking all the characters – even the bratty Celia. Aunt Fran was a hoot and George was the kind of friend I’d like to have hanging around. What was funny to me was that Miss Thing emulated the Queen of England, while Aunt Fran had all of the Corgis. My only complaint is that the characters were all introduced so fast with their own little snippets of information, that I almost stopped reading because I was having trouble keeping up in the first couple of chapters. But I stuck it out a couple of more chapters and by then, had switched from confusion in assimilation to necessity in seeing where these characters were headed next. This book contains some sexual content, but nothing graphic or explicit. I would still call it a sweet romance. I’ll tell you what – if any of the restaurants were based on actual places, Charleston just got added to my bucket list. I was hungry the whole time I was reading! If you are looking for a sweet. Romantic HEA, full of Southern charm, quirky characters, and a bunch of holiday cheer sprinkled throughout, you have absolutely found the right book! There might even be a small mystery solved. Ms. Kramer is a mastermind world-builder and this community is one I would love to be able to be a part of!
