Christopher P. Semtner has served as author, co-author, or editor of a number of books on Poe. As Curator of the Edgar Allan Poe Museum in Richmond, Virginia, he has created museum exhibits on Poe in the Comics, Poe's Mysterious Death, and Poe in the Movies. The New York Times called the exhibit he curated for the Library of Virginia, Poe: Man, Myth, or Monster, "provocative" and "a playful, robust exhibit." Semtner regularly speaks on both Poe and visual art at schools and libraries around the country and recently appeared in the B.B.C. 4 documentary "Edgar Allan Poe: Love, Death, and Women." In addition to his museum work, Semtner is an internationally exhibited visual artist whose paintings have entered public collections including those of the Virginia Historical Society, the City of Baltimore, and the University of Maryland.
