I highly recommend this book. But take a Dramamine, it's a wild ride. If you have a pain pill, that might help too...and something for your blood pressure? If you have heart problems you might want to read slowly, and have the whisky handy for the total heartbreak at the end.
I have to call out Artie Cabrera, son you can write! I hope everyone will join me in hounding (snicker) you for a series! I need a map to Boone Ridge, those are some fine folks, and really interesting critters! I love how you worked Sam into the story, you guys make a great team!!
Only Artie Cabrera would have thought of something like this. I love all the stories, but truthfully, Artie's Boone Ridge tale screams, Tell Me More! It doesn't go where you think it will :D
And let me warn you, Stefan Bolz's Nightmare has given my friend, nightmares.
Grab some popcorn, sit down and enjoy the stories.
But if B-movies are anything like the stories in this book, I may have to rethink my stance on the matter. Each story is entirely unique, and weird and wonderful in its own way. Standouts for me were "Attack of the Kung-Fu Mummies" and "Gorillabot vs Mermaids from Neptune." Vice-president Nixon in control of a giant mechanical ape? Did not see that coming. Oh, sorry, spoiler alert: vice-president Nixon winds up in control of a giant mechanical ape. Or monkey or gorilla or whatever the proper term is.
I think anyone who gives this collection a whirl will find something to enjoy, and will probably enjoy the entire thing, as I did. Highly recommended!
Brings back memories of all those old bad movies, you know... campy horror, mystery, thriller, scifi. Bad, just bad, but oh so much fun to watch. These stories are no exception and all are quite good.
Nice to be entertained and introduced to new (to me, at least) authors at the same time.
