Just as the cover blurb promises, this is a pornographic psycho-thriller about obsession, revenge, and the razor edge between love and hatred. It is weird, twisted, bizarre, and all kinds of kinky. What holds it all together is the characters, who are absolutely fantastic. Moctezuma, Jinx, Jenny, Tasha, and all the rest are well-developed in their own perverse way. Love them or hate them, it is hard not to envy them all.
There are a lot of fetishes in this book, with ass-to-mouth central to the whole story, but you could say it is a book about cum - eating cum, wearing cum, storing cum, using cum, and absorbing cum. These girls (Jinx especially) are absolutely mad for Moctezuma's cum, and they don't lack for imagination in how to enjoy it. There is a good amount of humiliation involved in the act of harvesting, but it is erotic, rather than cruel, with everyone taking some degree of pleasure from the experience.
Of course, beneath all the fetishes, the humiliation, the rambling narrative, and the sheer insanity, there is also a story. It takes a while for it to become clear, to rise above the insane mess, but rest assured all that madness and jealousy is going somewhere. If you are a smutpunk fan, you have probably already read this . . . and, if not, Chronicles of a Humiliation Backfired is a great place to begin.
If you follow my reviews because I review erotic romances or romantic erotica, this is not that type of story. But give it a chance.
Moctezuma DM’d me on Twitter, asking me to read this book. I normally read romance novels, but I can handle edgier stuff. Since I’m a fledgling indie erotica author, I love supporting indie erotica authors, so I bought it, but I had no idea what I’m getting into other than glancing at the reviews.
So my job here is to convince you to buy it, which should be easy because it’s a freaking good read. It’s NOT a romance novel. It’s NOT sweet. It’s NOT lovey-dovey. But what it is, is well-written, insane, hardcore literary porn.
The first thing that I noticed about this book is that it is told in the first person, from a guy, and written by a guy. I’m always interested in this because frankly, as a woman, a man writer delivers on the universal question—what is he thinking?
In this case, it’s sex.
And lots of it.
Moctezuma is Mexican-American, well-endowed, hanging out in Seoul with a lot of Korean women, and this book starts with a list of sexual exploits. I’m hooked already. It’s told with swagger that appears to be earned. And, like Hemingway, this story starts mid-story. You’re immediately in the narrator’s world and it’s a fun one. (Bet you didn’t think I would compare porn to Hemingway.) But his world gets more intense as the book progresses.
The style is breezy and fast, but smart, and almost stream-of-consciousness, but not quite. And I was reminded of Kerouac. Except it’s porn. (Bet you didn’t think I would compare porn to Kerouac.) Porn with sex acts that require stitches afterwards. And an equal appreciation for a blow job as for a woman buying cat food.
Some of the sex is described quickly, almost from a distance. With others, you are right there, getting all that Moctezuma has to give. Or that others are doing around him. It’s filthy dirty. It’s beyond naughty. It’s crazy.
It’s wildly creative. It’s not for the faint of heart. Some of it is offensive, intentionally so (a pet name is “pig”). There’s revenge. Knives are frequently drawn. There’s an awful lot of semen getting splashed around. They go to Thailand. There is a Geisha. And a Prince. Sort of. And more sexual exploits.
Happy ever after? No.
But it’s damn good.
I don't know how Montezuma managed to tell a story with so much hardcore sex constantly flowing down the page.
I hate saying much about the plot. I didn't know much about it before I read it other than that Jynx was a character in a series
of episodes. Who runs and ruins whose life is for the reader to discover, but be sure humiliation is the flavor of the day.
