A 1 star rating is too generous for this novel. All those who have raved about this book are either relatives or read on a 1st grade level. The storyline was bad and the characters were underdeveloped. I could have forgiven that, but the typos and grammatical errors were unacceptable and inexcusable for someone with the credentials of this author. Even if the story had been good, the effort required to figure out what the author was TRYING to say amid misspellings, bad grammar and poor sentence structure would have overshadowed it. Next time around, please invest in an editor or at the very least, ask a 5th grader to review. Either way, I won't know, because I'll never read another selection from this author!

I'm impressed with Ms. Carey's first novel. It is a fast pace entertaining story that has a good plot and strong characterization. It will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what could possibly happen next to a highly dysfunctional, funny group of people. If you like drama than this book is for you. Sabrina Sloan is a young woman coming of age in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., who is looking for love and adventure. So off she goes on a quest to find her place in the world. She meets many interesting people, but strikes up a friendship with Blair, a young woman with a difficult past but can take care of herself. She takes Sabrina under her wing. However, their friendship soon turns into battleground when they discover they are in love with the same guy. What makes this plot strong is Ms. Carey's writing ability to make the characters come alive. You feel their pain, sorrows and happiness. As you read the story you really get caught up in the personality of the two women. Can you really be too good (Sabrina) or too bad (Blair)? The author entertains you, but also give you something to think about in terms of good and evil. Can't wait to see what happens in a sequel. There has to be one coming!

I was a little put off by this book, but it ended up being good. I had a feeling all the time that her so called, new best friend, was a hoodrat and I'm glad Sabrina got away from the dirty old man at the church. I think that lil church mother had something to do with it. Be careful eating at church functions. lol

Main character, Sabrina Sloan, was easy to identify with as she dealt with real life issues. It was easy to get into this story and follow the characters along their journey. The only drawback is I found this book to be predictable, even through the "twists and turns". For the price it was a good read.

This is a good book for young people, it was predictable, some excitement, keeeping one on edge about what was going to happen next. I read it because a book club I belong to was reading it and I found it to be an easy read

It took me a while to read this.....it drags a bit. But overall it was good. It makes you realize how people can go through changes so drastically, to only end up discovering who you really are. I would recommend this to anyone and it seems like their just may be sequel to the way this ended and I would read that as well, should it happen.

The characters in this book are from the DC area, my hometown. That was one of the more exciting reference in the book to me; reading about events taking place in certain areas and landmarks. Most of the story was easy for me to visualize but, some of the situatuons were just unimaginable.

It seemed to me that this author had a lot more of the story to tell but tried to put as much as she could into this book. It made to book seem rushed at times and the story seem more like a tall tale. I feel like there should be an addition to this book to help explain some of the almost impossible scenes and to give the book an even flow.

I did like the book and I would read additional book by this author.
