I would have liked to seen more about Attlee. In the portions of the book that sandwiched the war, there was a lot about Churchill but comparatively less about Attlee. I guess that it was hard to avoid given that Churchill was almost larger than life and Attlee was more modest.

I have always been interested in politics, this book was a real eye opener, Attlee & Churchill had by far a much better relationship to each other than they did with their own party. I always realised that Attlee ran the domestic issues plus he paid a large part in taking charge in war council meeting in Churchills absents, they became a powerful team.
I can recommend this book if you are interested in that period,an eye opener.
