Tendentious and Disingenuous anti Churchill Polemic

This over priced academic work is a tendentious and disingenuous polemic against Winston Churchill and his lifelong interaction with Jews. Professor Cohen also attacks those Jewish historians like Martin Gilbert who do not share his view that Churchill's supposed support of Zionism (the return of Jews to their promised land in Palestine) was mostly rhetoric and hot air. While many people talk out of both sides of their mouths, Cohen writes out of both sides of his. He awards both overt and backhanded praise to Churchill and his biographer Gilbert while severely criticizing both simultaneously. Cohen's sources are valid enough but his conclusions often lead to left field, as it were. For example, Churchill was not really a Zionist because he put British imperial interests and his own career first. Heavens! How could that be? Cohen entirely misses the point that in a career as long and variegated as Churchill's the circumstances and instances of supporting Zionism amidst many other, sometimes greater and often conflicting, concerns would not be and could not be consistent. That fact that Churchill was especially cool to Zionists after they killed his friend Lord Moyne and were in armed conflict against British authorities should hardly be a surprise! For anyone interested in this topic read Gilbert's Churchill and the Jews, a much better written, more soundly historical, and fairly priced work.
