By far the worst part of all was the grammar. I'm no grammar Nazi, but the poor punctuation and word usage were so distracting that it was hard to pay attention to the actual story. The author frequently utilized the wrong forms of "you" and "you're" and "too" and "to". He also likes placing both commas and hyphens where-, they're-not, needed. I found myself wondering if he had even bothered to use an editor, let alone spell-check. J. Austin Gentry, if you DID use an editor, I would strongly recommend firing him or her immediately.
Overall, I cannot believe this book was written by someone with "over 15 years of experience". In fact, I would be disappointed if a college student had written it. The other reviews for this book must have been written by friends of the author or the author himself, because no real reader would ever describe the characters in CHURN as well-developed or complex.
