Positive and Negative polarity reversed on plug

Purchased this to hardwire my Igloo cooler (refrigerator). Checked polarity with original and this one has the polarity reversed. I was cutting the cord to hard wire it into a fused circuit anyway, so not a problem, but it might explain why other users had issues.
I also had to shave the external plastic down to get the plug to fit into the opening on my unit. Razor blade worked fine for that.
Wire size is no more than AWG 16 so it cannot deliver much current flow. I am on a 5 amp fuse, so again not a problem for me. The Igloo cooler only has a fan and a thermoelectric junction to provide cooling. Not much current draw for that. But if the polarity is reversed, you get a heater and a fan that runs backwards...and that is not the preferred outcome.

I need to check fuse and disassembled cigarette socket adapter, and found that metal parts inside socket had lots of rust on them. See photo.

Also, beware, this cable is not for portable 12 V fridges. See the second photo. The bigger terminal on the left is for 12 V fridges. The smaller terminal on the right is this product. It won't work with 12 V fridges.
