Everyone loves tasteful stories, and as coaches and business people, if we find the right purposeful stories, we can be very, very effective. This is likely more
true than ever, as with smart phones, iPads and laptops, people's attention spans are shrinking rapidly, and stories do hold one's attention.

Firstly, I believe in the power of story telling and how useful it is to tell a story that empowers an individual, so I was excited when I heard about this book.
Lisa spends most of her time telling you WHY story telling is important (very repetitively) but doesn't go into any depth about HOW TO construct a good story or how to work with clients or yourself on creating a transformative story.
It's full of stories to fill the spaces, most of them are meaningless .... more like sketches from a personal diary.
If you are looking for a book to learn from, this is not the one.
And what's with the positive reviews? They are what influenced me to buy this book. Waste of money.
Lisa's approach is so refreshing. The book is a page turner... like a good novel. I could not put it down.
The stories she uses for demonstration and the practical tips she provides, are useful not only for coaches, but for anyone who is wanting to move forward towards achieving a particular goal or objective.
I most certainly recommend this book. It was well worth the purchase. I am implementing story in a more beneficial way into my daily work, and enjoying myself more because of it.
