About Cindi McMenamin
I had the privilege of releasing a book that my daughter, Dana, helped me write: "When a Mom Inspires Her Daughter." Many people ask how I got started writing and publishing. I would have to say my books are the result of more than 25 years of ministering to women, writing and teaching Bible studies to women, and recording the insights God has taught me through lessons in my own life. I can also help you get started with your book if God has placed a book on your heart but you don't know where to start. Beginning June 1, 2018 I will be taking clients who want a writing and/or speaking coach to help them get to the next level.
Women's groups across the country have enjoyed studying through my books, so I always include questions for thought, reflection, and application at the end of each chapter. I also have free downloadable small group facilitators' guides available on my website for study through some of my titles.
You can find my writings on Crosswalk.com, LaundryMoms.com. PastorResources.com and other sites, as well as on my blog at www.StrengthForTheSoul.com. I am also a part of the Bible Gateway blogger grid. I live in the San Diego area of Southern California with my husband of 30 years. My daughter, now an adult, lives nearby and works for the Walt Disney Company. I enjoy reading, traveling, taking Disney vacations with my family (perks of my daughter's job!) and staying active.
Stop by my website and say "hello." I try my best to personally respond to everyone I hear from. : )

Blog postGod doesn’t have favorites…right? That would seem impartial or unfair. And yet, look through Scripture and you’ll find ordinary people whom God chose to get up close and personal with. They were individuals whom God used in a particularly powerful way and they clearly had His anointing, protection, and extraordinary blessings. While Peter said “God […]1 week ago Read more

Blog postNow more than ever, others need to see Jesus in us. Not the Jesus the media portrays. Not the Jesus that others have created in their minds. But the Jesus of the Bible. The Jesus of the cross. The Jesus who lives in our hearts and loves without reason. I’ve been a believer in Jesus […]1 month ago Read more

Blog postAround Thanksgiving it’s ingrained in us to think of our blessings, and focus on what we have, rather than what we lack. Yet 2020 has certainly been a year in which it was easy to focus on what we’ve lost. Our freedoms (to a certain extent), our jobs, our conveniences, our economic stability, our hopes, […]3 months ago Read more

Blog postAre you on the edge of your seat regarding your health, the election, your finances, or your future? Don’t worry. God’s got this. All of it. Psalm 138:8 says: “The Lord will accomplish what concerns [us]; Your faithfulness, Lord, is everlasting” (NASB). In the New King James Version, that verse says: The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.” God will not only accomplish all we […]4 months ago Read more

Blog postMy husband and I were running on a local trail recently. As we increased our speed up a hill, an older man who was walking down that hill with his dog cheered us on by saying, “Good job, guys. Way to go… Pandemic strong!” I like that expression. Blog postAfter watching the Presidential election debate last week my heart dropped. With a sickened feeling in my stomach I prayed, “Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Just get me outta here. Blog postI’ll admit it. I’ve been ragging on 2020. Who hasn’t? Worst year ever! I mean, could things get any worse? Blog postWhat are you waiting for God to accomplish in your life? We often quote Psalm 37:4 as our “guarantee” that God is going to come through with granting our desires. Blog postDuring a worldwide pandemic we often think of the need for physical healing. But God is the One who can heal EVERY area of your life—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Blog postIt happened. This week I snapped about COVID-19 and the resulting cruddy condition of this world. I’d been staying positive for months. More and more women are finding themselves alone in their Christian walk because of life's circumstances—a lack of support from people in her home, work, or church; being left out of the things she used to be included in; being misunderstood and unable to explain. Cindi McMenamin, author of Drama Free, offers personal encouragement and practical, biblical steps for gaining strength in times of isolation and becoming resilient to, not resentful toward, loneliness.
Cindi's audience for Women Who Walk Alone is a broad one—single women, women parenting alone, women alone as the spiritual head of their household, women facing challenging life situations, women without close friendships. And her message is timely—every woman feels alone at some point in her life, yet every woman needs someone to grow alongside her and to encourage her in her walk with the Lord.
When Women Walk Alone encourages readers to see alone times as unique opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Women will discover practical ways to...
- find support from other women who feel alone in their lives
- celebrate their own uniqueness and grow through the lonely times
- gain strength for the challenges of parenting alone
- funnel "loneliness in prayer" into "a new power in prayer alone with God"
- rely on the Lord and others to overcome personal trials
Using examples of biblical and contemporary women who emerged from a time of loneliness stronger and more complete, Cindi also looks at the example of Jesus and the many times He was alone or sought out some "alone time" to draw strength from His Father.
Women long to be loved, to be known, to be understood. But who can meet those needs at their deepest level? Only the One who created women--who knows them by name and who designed them--can bring fulfillment that truly satisfies.
Letting God Meet Your Emotional Needs shows how God desires to help every woman:
- I need acceptance... God loves, forgives, and accepts
- I need security... God promises He will never leave
- I need to feel pretty... Christ sees me as new, spotless
- I need a companion... He is the perfect friend
- I need communication... He talks to me intimately through His Word
Formerly Heart Hunger.
The demands of everyday life almost always pull husbands and wives in different directions. And even when they are together, there’s very little opportunity to just be a couple. Work, children, and other commitments make it a constant challenge to find quality time alone.
Hugh and Cindi McMenamin have put together an innovative devotional about meaningful ways that husbands and wives can draw closer together. Each reading in this 31-day book offers simple, helpful (and fun!) steps a husband and wife can take to nourish closeness and intimacy. Among the topics are
the power of a note making a memory
extending grace splurging on love
finding a getaway lighten the load
flirting again sharing your heart
Key thoughts from Scripture are interwoven into each devotion, and each ends with “Points to Ponder Together” as well as a couple’s prayer. Especially helpful are the frequent anecdotal tips from a woman’s perspective (Cindi) and a man’s (Hugh).
This book is about how a woman can be the encourager, motivator, inspiration, and admiration behind her man becoming all God designed him to be.
When a Woman Inspires Her Husband looks at how a woman can celebrate and encourage her husband's uniqueness. Cindi shares how a wife can embrace the man in her life by...
- understanding his world
- easing his burdens
- appreciating his differences
- admiring him for who he is
- encouraging him to dream
In times of heartache, the questions can seem unending. You’ve poured your heart out to God, but when the difficulties just don’t stop, you wonder if He is listening.
You’ll find encouragement and comfort from the life example of Hannah, a woman in the Bible who knew deep pain and seemingly unanswered prayer. Yes, you are precious to God. He knows the longings of your heart even more than you do. Place your trust in Him and rest...as you await the unfolding of His plan for your life.
Women today are tired of feeling overwhelmed by all the demands on their lives and are longing for rest. They want to do more than just simplify or reorganize their lives; they're looking for a rest that will help them to...
- avoid spiritual burnout
- sense a gratifying fulfillment in all their work
- enjoy greater intimacy with God
- drink deeply of the riches in God's Word
- revive their hearts through prayer and worship
When Women Long for Rest is an invitation for women to find their quiet place at God's feet--a place where they can listen to Him, open their hearts to Him, and experience true rest.
From the author of the bestseller When Women Walk Alone—a book of comfort and assurance for when you hurt.
“Where is God when you need Him most? Doesn’t He care?”
In times of heartache, the questions can seem unending. You‘ve poured your heart out to God, but when the difficulties just don’t stop, you wonder if He is listening.
You’ll find encouragement and comfort from the life example of Hannah, a woman in the Bible who knew deep pain and seemingly unanswered prayer. Through her you’ll discover you can know with certainty that…
- your tears are seen
- your prayers are heard
- the comfort God offers is real
Yes, you are precious to God. He knows the longings of your heart even more than you do. Place your trust in Him and rest…as you await the unfolding of His plan for your life.
Many Christian women give of themselves relentlessly. In the midst of their many responsibilities they get tired, yet there's simply no time to stop and become refreshed. What can a woman do when she's running on empty?
Cindi McMenamin shares how women can renew their energy and passion and press on. She touches upon every area of a woman's life, offering practical advice on
- knowing when to say no
- serving to please God and not people
- maintaining good health habits that recharge one's energy
- simplifying one's priorities
- taking time to rest and play
Every chapter concludes with a "Pick-Me-Up Prayer" designed to help women do all things in the Lord's power and not their own.
Author Cindi McMenamin’s bestseller When Women Walk Alone (more than 100,000 copies sold) confirms her gift for encouraging women who are journeying through difficult seasons. In her newest book, she offers help for women who are dealing with wounds from unresolved issues in their past.
When a Woman Overcomes Life’s Hurts explores the kinds of hurt women experience and offers gracious, biblical counsel on how and where to find healing. Cindi shares the faulty thinking that often accompanies life’s wounds and replaces it with truths every woman needs to know about how God views her. She takes women from
- feeling insignificant to realizing how much the Lord loves them
- feeling undesirable to seeing their true beauty
- feeling they’re not good enough to recognizing how special they are
This is a book filled with grace, redemption, and transformation—leading women toward a renewed focus on God, a resurgence of inner joy, and better relationships with others.
