It's a solid item when it works, but it takes some fussy work more often than not. It's not as broken as some other people said, but only once have I have been able to use it by plugging it in and using it. Most of the time it takes a dozen or so unplugging/plugging in attempts to get it to work properly. When it does though, it looks solid - definitely better than a standard connection.
It's just such a bummer that you need to buy a converter for today's TV's to get it to work, making this essentially a $60-75 investment (at minimum). Is this worth buying? Well, unless you're willing to import some cables - which I haven't tried yet - then yes, otherwise you may end up saving yourself some frustration by purchasing a more expensive cable elsewhere if there is less work in getting those working consistently.
