"In my years coaching, I've seen plenty of talented basketball players, but the ones that sustain greatness are more than just great basketball players. I tell my team that learning to manage yourself is just as important as being a great ball player; that the best athletes live in their power by consistently executing ALL their skills and improving each day. They rise above the rest because they know who they are, they understand their goals, and they never get sidelined by failure or carried away in their success.
The Circle Blueprint really captures the essence of finding balance between independence, power, humility, and purpose. It teaches you how to take these crucial elementsthe ones that can take your performance from 'good' to 'amazing'and develop them for your specific goals. The assessment shows you what you need to work on. The tools in this book can help you achieve these objectives both on the court and off. If you want to really see how far you can go, read The Circle Blueprint right now."

"To get a great job, it used to be enough to graduate from a great school. No longer. Today's organizations require leaders that thrive, and that means impressive degrees aren't enough. To be a great leader at any level you must be an authentic and balanced 'whole person.' In a deeply competitive global marketplace, being responsible for a company's most valuable assetsits employeesrequires an incredibly honed skill set. The Circle Blueprint lays out a path to becoming a productive, successful, emotionally intelligent human being in the workplace, at home, and in the community. It's a new day and Jack Skeen, Greg Miller, and Aaron Hill have written a book that equips us to thrive in it."

The book lays out the a clear approach towards fulfilling potential in a unique, but simple and logical way. I tend to spend less time thinking about how the different aspects of circle (that the author lays out) relate to each and contribute to effectiveness. The book also does a great job of showing how the different areas of our lives effect each other and provides interesting perspective on how and why we spend our time as we do. This part was particularly interesting to me since so much of my actives are driven by habits and not things we actively think about.
There is a interactive/online component which is straightforward and helpful as there were a few areas where my personal assessment were actually different then reality. I think it provided more honest feedback and a more realistic assessment of some blindspots that I can improve on.
The book and approach were very unique and helpful. The combination of the feedback and individual approach to improvement was incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend.
What I appreciate most about this book is the balance it finds in offering broad perspective as well as practical simplicity. That is to say, readers can learn and expand their thinking with it, but also refine and fine-tune their personal and professional approaches in life.
More specifically, the circle concept has helped me to recognise areas of balance and also lack of balance in my life. As a hands-on, adoring father of three daughters, in the college phase of their lives, an entrepreneur launching and building a business with my partner, a committed partner in a loving relationship, and a passionate singer-songwriter, to mention a few of the principle areas of focus in my life, it is easy for things to go out of balance. In reading through the book, once again, I recognised that I have de-prioritised, at the moment, my musical pursuits, and that is not something I do not want to do, as music is a real calling for me. This is just one example, of course, and I could list others if I did not want to keep this review brief! The book helps me to course correct, and not only to understand where the imbalance arises, but why it is arising.
I am most grateful to Jack, and his co-authors, for writing this book, and I have recommended it and personally gifted copies to various people in my circle. I encourage you to get a copy and see how you can learn and grow from the insights it offers.
