The Circles All Around Us Hardcover – Picture Book, May 18, 2021
Purchase options and add-ons
In the circles all around us, everywhere that we all go, there's a difference we can make and a love we can all show.
This is the story of a circle. When we're first born, our circle is very small, but as we grow and build relationships, our circle keeps getting bigger and bigger to include family, friends, neighbors, community, and beyond. Brad Montague originally created Circles as an Instagram video adorably narrated by his kids, and now this picture book adaptation is the perfect way to start a conversation about how to expand our worlds with kindness and inclusivity—even if it seems scary or uncomfortable. This book makes an ideal new-baby, first-day-of-school, or graduation gift, or any milestone that celebrates someone's world getting bigger.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2024I give this book to all my friends’ kids. Most of them are too young to fully understand it right now, but I love knowing they know that we’ll always be part of their circle.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2024Our 3 year old grandson was having a hard time transitioning to his new preschool class. This book helped us talking with him about his feeling. I would highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2024While the overall message and illustrations were admirable and promote world community, empathy, and neighborliness, it wasn’t a good fit for us, at least not for the time being.
We’re focused more on identifying which people are safe to trust and on what level, since safety is a bigger concern for my very friendly family.
We’re using Social Boundaries: The Circles Curriculum for “discriminating different levels of intimacy and adapting their behaviors accordingly”. This book, I believe, could undermine that message since it talks about expanding our circles and letting more people in.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2021We are huge fans of Brad Montague in this home! I read “Being Better Grownups” last year and it changed my outlook on parenting. I quote that book all the time. When I saw on his Instagram page that he was releasing a kids book, I pre-ordered and anxiously awaited its arrival. It arrived yesterday and we read it together as a family at bedtime last night. Our 5-year-old loved it and our 3-year-old loved the images. The message of the story is beautiful and one that resonates with people of all ages. Brad Montague does it again ... pure perfection!
