After an endless search for a baking sheet with an actual baking rack, I found this set. In the description on this site, it states that the rack is a cooling rack. Make no mistake, it is a baking rack. The rack is nice and heavy to hold food on it as it cooks. Probably can be used as a cooling rack but not the same weight as a normal cooling rack. When I contacted Circulon, they stated that the rack can stand temperatures up to 500 degrees.
Nothing sticks to this set. Even the rack cleans off nicely. The pans and rack are heavy enough not to warp. Great for baking fried chicken, bacon, cookies, biscuits...anything. Looks just as good as the day I received it. Going to get rid of all my lightweight pans that warp as soon as you put them in the oven.
Even considering purchasing another set. These are top notch and worth the price.
Now I have to check out the other pans by circulon which are nonstick. Thank you for a great set.
I bought these to replace my old baking sheets after growing tired of how annoying they were to deal with. They are the typical old ones you are likely familiar with: flimsy steel, with some kind of coating that is wearing off, a heat-damaged, mottled finish, rust spots all over the bottom, and a crease from cutting something in the pan. They flex and pop when they heat up and again when they cool down. I lived with these hand-me-downs for many years, dreading the cleanup each time I used them. Cleanup usually involved a long soak in the sink, steel wool, and rust stains getting onto my counter if I wasn't careful.
Finally, after one particularly annoying cleanup, I jumped on Amazon and searched for nonstick pans. I found these, figured they looked good and had good reviews, and were inexpensive...and anything would be better than the ones I had.
These pans aren't just better...they are amazing. I don't bake cookies or pastries, but I do make things like taquitos, pork ribs, meatloaf balls, etc...things that often leave behind sticky and/or burnt residue that is horrendous to clean off. Everything just rinses off of these pans. If it doesn't rinse off, it easily wipes off with a damp cloth. No more steel wool (you definitely should not use that on these), no more soaking. When recipes say to "line the pan with foil for easier cleanup," I ignore it. Why waste foil when cleanup is already as easy as turning on the faucet?
Not only that, but these pans are very thick and sturdy. I saw one review (which was still a positive review) that said they had the pan flex at 500 degrees, and then relax back to shape without any trouble, but I have yet to see that happen at all with mine. No more loud "POP" to startle me as something is cooling on top of the stove.
I am so happy with these pans that I bought some of their other sizes, and I'm going to take great pleasure in throwing my old ones directly into the dumpster.
If you're not happy with your current baking sheets for any reason, buy these. I promise you will not be disappointed.
These pans so far have not warped in the high heat (400 degrees) and have held up well. I do line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper however, so I cannot really say how well the non-stick coating will fair. For my purposes they fit the bill. If I have any complaints it would be that there was only one rack, but it is rather minor as that is what was pictured. I suppose eventually i will get around to purchasing a seperate rack.
The pans clean up with a palm held "soap" brush that restaurants use, the bristles get into the "circular" groves in the bottom of the pan easily. If you clean them as soon as they cool or soak them a few minutes they will stay bright and shiny. Cookies pop off easily and you can transfer them onto the rack.
I was thrilled to learn that all I had to do was cook them for 1 minute less to get the soft bottom I wanted. Hooray for baking sheets that can make soft cookies or crunchy ones.
Also, SO EASY TO CLEAN! They are 100% non stick. I've used them dozens of times for a variety of different purposes and I've never had trouble with something sticking.
When you wash it, water gets into the curled under metal on the bottom. (The areas where the metal was curved under to create smooth edges around the lip of the pans) This water does not drain easily. So when you think it is dry, you'll pick it up and the water trapped is rusting the pan in those curved edges... and will drip out red with rust.
Just know that will happen and that is a part of the scene here.
Otherwise-- really sturdy. Don't know if it stains though, because I always line it with something when I use it.
