I finally figured out how to open these pans!

I love these pans! I bought two to replace some Wilton pans that also had covers. I loved the Wilton pans because of their covers but the nonstick material came off on all three of my pans after owning them for just a few months. It was a cheap pan made of cheap materials. This pan, however, is the complete opposite. It's made of quality materials, is extremely sturdy, is easy to wash (I wash by hand only), and is great for storing leftovers. The raised lid allows you to store foods that are taller than the height of the pan. When I read reviews prior to ordering this pan, I saw that several people had commented that these pans are hard to open. I thought the same thing too but I'm so glad I didn't return these. It turns out that I've been opening them incorrectly for a few months now. I feel like an idiot. So if you look at the sides of the pan, you'll see what appears to be four small notches. I've been trying to open the pan using these four notches and it was frustrating at times. Anyway, I came here to write this review because other people are probably doing the same thing. The way to correctly open these pans is to use the long notch that's between the two smaller notches. So there are two long notches, one on each of the longer sides of the pan. Duh!!! Easy peasy! No problems opening the pans now. I purchased two of these pans and absolutely love them now that I know how to open them. I hope that some of you find this review helpful.

I use this pan for all kinds of baking. It is absolutely everything claimed and described. You can tell from the moment you unpack it that it is a winner. The weight and workmanship is excellent. I DO NOT put my bakeware in the dishwasher, but hand washing is a snap. This is a non-stick surface that is true to its claim. While the non-stick finish is metal utensil safe, I do not do any heavy metal utensil use. Any cutting/slicing of food in this pan I use only a standard inner knife, anything requiring a sharp edged knife, I remove from the pan. I highly recommend this line of Circulon bakeware--it is true to its claim. Thank you. NO rust, stick, warp, or hassle.

I LOVE IT! I made a cake for my daughter's birthday instead of buying one and needed a great baking pan WITH a lid. The pan was completely non-stick just like it said. I didn't have to use non-stick spray or anything extra for the 1st time Ever! The cake came out of the pan easily. Plus the pan was super easy to clean. I just 1st ran it under really hot water and everything just melted right off before I then used dish soap and a sponge. I want more in different sizes and shapes if I can find them!

Also, I saw a lot of other people say the lid was complicated and so hard to get off... No its not at all. I don't know what they were doing but the lid seals tight on the pan keeping the cake protected, soft and moist for days, and is super easy to take off. Just do one side at a time. 🙄

I love that it's sturdy and very non-stick but the lid is almost impossible to remove, especially for me because I have some mild arthritis. My daughter has difficulty as well. Any suggestions out there?
I've only used it about 3 times so I can't speak to the longevity.

So glad I spent a little more. Very nice, heavy material. Well made. I was worried about the pattern on the bottom. When using It seems the same as a flat bottom pan. With the nice non stick surface cleaning is simple, food comes out easily.
