If you're considering the purchase, though, note that the book is filled with diagrams and screenshots that are simply illegible on a standard kindle screen, and are unpleasant to view even on a DX. They look ok on kindle for PC, but I hate that app so use it as little as possible (page scrolling on a PC is antihuman). They also made strange use of screen capture and text C&P for show command output by sometimes merging the two, making that info very difficult to read in some cases as well. For $10, I'm not complaining, but it was annoying enough that if I purchase their ROUTE book, it certainly won't be the kindle edition, and frankly, I can't see spending $60+ on a single exam text.
My favorite thing about the book is that the authors didn't overly explain everything and add in a bunch of useless information when talking about topics that won't be on the test. This makes it easier to focus on the core material and gives more time for focusing on the labs.
Note: This book was written for the prior SWITCH exam, so you will need to make sure you brush up the topics that were introduced to SWITCH starting in 2015.
This book is very good at letting you know everything and anything in it, is important. You can't escape it's grasp, once you think they are done saying the word "important" it shows up again. Every time I came up on this word I broke concentration.
Besides the over use of that word, I found this book to be very informative. Plenty of detail, probably to much at times. The Labs at the end are great. This was my primary book along with a few video resources my work provided. Watched the videos first and then proceeded to the book.
