Product Description
The Ultra RangePlus Wireless N PCI Adapter with Dual Band adds wireless connectivity to your desktop computer. Install it into an available slot in your computer, and enjoy great high speed wireless network access without running wires. The Wireless N PCI Adapter uses the very latest wireless networking technology, Wireless N (draft 802.11n). By overlaying the signals of multiple radios for each band, Wireless N's "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology is designed to multiply the effective data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections much farther than standard Wireless G.

So, bottom line, if you have win 7/64, this card will work with that software. That's what I wanted, that's what I got.
UPDATE: Over time, I had more and more problems with the adapter. specifically, my connection kept dropping, despite proximity to the router and adjusting the router to "full power". It was driving me insane to have to close out all windows start my browse over again, and re-connect every time I started up the computer in the morning. I decided that none of the wireless adapters got across the board good enough reviews. Instead, I changed tack and bought a Western Digital WD Livewire Powerline AV Network Kit setup. No more dropped connections, no more closing out windows. Lesson learned. Livewire for me from now on.
(Originally I rated this 2-stars based on the fact that it didn't work for the Win7 computer I bought it for. However, after installing it in a WinXP computer I found out it does work, so I changed my rating and edited my review to reflect that.)
Both of my primary computers are running Windows 7 64-bit Pro, but the only versions of Windows mentioned on the Linksys WMP600N box are Windows XP, and Windows Vista 32 & 64 bit.
After installing the drivers, putting the card in and rebooting, the Linksys installation software claimed I didn't have the card inserted properly. No problem... I checked the card & saw that it was mounted properly, but just in case, I moved it to another PCI slot. After another reboot, my system still didn't detect the card. A few minutes with Google confirmed my fears: This card doesn't work with Windows 7 64-bit! You don't believe me...? See for yourself at the official Linksys website.
According to their chart the only wireless PCI adapter they have that supports 64-bit versions of Windows 7 is their model WMP110. But my research into that one reveals that IT doesn't work with 64-bit Windows 7 either!
I've been building, repairing and maintaining PCs for 18 years so I know it's best to do a little research before buying any hardware or software, but I disregarded my own thinking when I was looking for a wireless card in June 2015. This model was popular here at Amazon, the price was low, and I've used Linksys products in the past with no problem, so I felt I was getting a good product in this wireless adapter. I actually purchased this card last summer, but only tonight went to install it in my other Win7 computer, so even though it doesn't work in the system I bought it for it's much too late for me to return it. However, it won't go to waste. I still have an older machine running Windows XP SP3. I put the card in there and it was instantly recognized after a reboot. The drivers and software installed without a hitch, and my WinXP machine reports "Excellent" signal strength from my router. Afterward, I was able to download updates for my antivirus and firewall, and browse online with no problems.
