These films are worthy of purchase by any fan of old films, esp. Westerns. The prints are clear, the sound good. You'll notice a dub in them. That was done in 1947, as there was a copyright dispute. This is where "Cisco Kid" became "Chico Villa" for years. It's so good to have that reversed, and the name "Cisco Kid" back where it belongs!

VCI has done a superb job all the way around. Wonderful transfer and picture quality for the Cisco films that, until today, was only available on VHS in poor quality transfers.

Recommend the Cisco book from the University Press by Francis M. Nevins as a companion piece.

I REMEMBER THE CISCO KID SERIES ON SUNDAY AM AFTER WONDERAMA BUT NEVER HEARD OF THE MOVIES. GILBERT ROWLAND STARRED IN THE SIX MADE AND HE IS BRILLIANT. GREAT SHORT MOVIES...WORTH A LOOK.

These Movies are entertaining. Gilbert Roland does a good job as Cisco but the style of the series has moved from the earlier work of Warner Baxter in "In Old Arizona". Roland plays a goody two shoes bandit lover. Not quite the blood thirsty killer of O'Henry.
