Kudos to the watch's designer easy to read minimalistic design, just what I was looking for in a men's timepiece. I was lucky and got this for $116.00 when the price dipped. At 40mm it's not over-sized for the average men's wrist as the watch is very streamlined, case and lugs, the ivory color dial is pleasant to the eye, black strap may be fine for some but I find it a bit understated and not my preference in a band for this timepiece. So I swapped it out for a stainless shark mesh band.
Note, If you register your Citizen watch online you'll receive an additional year, on a five year warranty
One thing Amazon has wrong in the product description, that know one has pointed out and should be changed. "Features solar power, leather strap with buckle closure, and day and date windows" this watch has only (date window) and the band is not 21mm at the lug, but 22mm so don't make the mistake if you're ordering a replacement band.
As for its operation, I'm impressed with its accuracy. After I set my watch, I've noticed a change of only a few seconds, month to month.
Another reason I bought this watch is because of its Eco-Drive, powered by light; I bought a Citizen watch for my wife several years ago and it has never stopped working. I think I read somewhere in the literature I received from Citizen, that when fully charged, the watch would continue to operate for up to six months without light. I've figured that if I'm in an environment for six months without light, I probably won't need a watch.
All in all, I think this is by far, one of the better purchases I've made.
This is a simple, uncluttered yet elegant classic analog watch to wear as a dress watch or even as a casual one. I noticed that the three hands are yellow gold in contrast to the overall rose gold tone settings thereby making those hands easily distinguishable from the hour markers in dim lighting situations. In addition, I like the ivory color dial that evokes calm and pleasant feeling and that provides better background color for the hands/hour markers than the usual white dial. The curved edge of the mineral crystal sloping downward to meet the case adds extra charm to the watch. And it produces an interesting optical illusion that the lengths of the dial markers on the southern part appear much longer than that of the markers on the northern half while viewing the time. It is nice to know that the special energy storage cell of this watch does not require replacement and an overcharge prevention function is also featured. The degree of water resistance indicates that this watch withstands rain and splashes of water, but not showering or submission. The width of the brown leather strap band is about 27/32”. The watch caseback shows the serial numbers at 6 o’clock position and the movement caliber/case numbers at 8. The function setting instructions and recharging guide are readily available from their website, and they are easy to follow. I am a happy camper to own this attractive and dignified timepiece.
PS - I think the photo featured for sale is somewhat underexposed, and the actual watch, especially the dial, looks a lot different and better.
