Citri-Strip QCG73801T Paint and Varnish Stripping Gel, 1-Quart
From the Manufacturer
Homes need as much love as the people in them. With Citristrip, you can safely remove layers of yesteryear from your furniture, cabinets, doors, and other painted surfaces. And it smells pretty nice too. Paint remover needs to stay wet to work. Citristrip stays wet for 24 hours. So you can cover and strip an entire dining room set in one go. If it's too wintery to strip your furniture outside, or if your furniture is nailed down inside, Citristrip is safe for indoor use. That's because it's made without methylene chloride. Citristrip smells like oranges instead of eye-watering chemicals. And its orange color helps the stripper gel stand out on a surface, so you know where you've applied it.

The "Directions for Use" states "Protect hands with chemical resistant gloves . . ", but does not specify that BUTYL RUBBER gloves are the truly safe type; standard latex, rubber, or nitril gloves are NOT SAFE as the stripping solvent WILL easily penetrate these.
As for the "Safe for Indoor Use" claim, the product is safe but ONLY IF ADEQUATE VENTILATION is provided; just opening the windows is NOT sufficient without forced ventilation. I think that the product name, Orange image and the rather pleasant Orange aroma may give the users a false sense of security regarding the hazards associated with the fumes. The product contains a 'bittering agent' to "discourage accidental swallowing", but I would prefer the manufacturer to include an offensive malodorous agent (like a good dose of Skatole . . which will make you think that a dozen pigs/boars have 'done their duty' around your feet) to discourage accidental over exposure to the fumes! (I may sound a bit paranoid, but a friend died a week after cleaning his racing bike gearing and chain with a solvent in a poorly ventilated room.)
Again, great product, BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Applied a few test areas on the tub before bed one evening and let it sit while I slept. The product packaging says 30 minutes to 24 hours for it to work. Woke up about 6 hours later to bubbly white epoxy paint that simply scraped away with minimal effort. Coated the remaining tub surface and was able to get about 98% of the epoxy to remove with ease. Some areas need a little elbow grease (and the instructions note that).
Overall very happy with this product to remove the epoxy paint from my bath tub. Hope to try it on other surfaces soon.
EDIT: Its a year later and I've found another use for this product - removing glue residue from an old vinyl/linoleum floor on concrete. Applied to the old glue, let sit for a few hours, and came back and was able to scrape off the glue with minimal effort.
