Pelargonium Citrosum 'Van Leenii'
Large Outdoor Plant
Planter/Pot Size: 1 Gallon
Overall Height*: 12" to 16"
*Overall height is inclusive of the planter height. For example, if your plant is 16” tall the first 6” are the planter, followed by 10” of plant height.
This mosquito plant is a scented leaf geranium that gives off a lemony, citronella fragrance. The best this about the pelargonium plant is that this scent is said to repel mosquitoes! Keep this plant in a planter around your patio or in your garden.
Care for this plant is easy. Winter the mosquito plant indoors if you are outside of its hardy zones, 9 to 11. These citronella plants prefer at least 6 hours of sunlight a day and well draining soil. So, make sure to place your plant by a window if you're keeping it indoors. Water 2 to 3 times per week until established. Do not plant close together as this plant grows rapidly (ex. one every 6' outdoors would be appropriate).
Optional Add On:
-Tropical Plant 16-6-11 Fertilizer, 16oz container. Use 2 TBSP of fertilizer per 3 gallon plant or 1/2 TBSP per 1 gallon plant, every 3 months.
-Outdoor Plant Potting Soil
-Heat Pack: If you live in a cold area (nightly temp reaching below 38F, or if you ship through a cold route) please make sure to add a heat pack! We are not responsible for plants with cold damage due to lack of purchasing a heat pack.
Note: Please understand that each plant is slightly varies (it is a living thing!) and therefore your plant may not look identical to the photo. We do our best to pick the healthiest, best quality plant for you!
