UGH I hate the design of this backpack! Pacsafe sacrificed style for usability. I loved that it was convertible, but it's actually frustrating to share the main lock w/ the straps. When in backpack mode, threading your arm through the strap causes the entire unit to sit on your back lopsided because the strap slides through the buckle. Its uncomfortable and the fact I have to fumble around with it makes me feel unsafe. Worst bag I've bought from pacsafe.

When this is in backpack mode, the strap is fed through the top center ring. I'm 5'1" and small shoulders so the position of the straps fit perfectly. However, there isn't a "stopper" to keep the strap from sliding around. I'm constantly having to adjust the position of the backpack to center it. Not only that, when filled with all the essentials, the weight feels like it's all at the base of my neck. When compared to the Travelon, where the straps are set wider on my shoulders and filled with the same essentials, the weight is evenly distributed.
The interior of this backpack is simple. It has one zippered RFID pocket, towards the bottom of the backpack which makes it difficult to grab your wallet. It also has one cushioned divider for a tablet or kindle. The Travelon has RFID and interior passport and credit card slots, eliminating the need to even carry a wallet.
The zipper in the middle of the back in interesting. While I like the idea of having an easier access point from the back without having to unlatch the the main zippers from the top ring, you can't really open it all the way because of the zipper pull security stop. If it's full of stuff and you're trying to get to the RFID pocket, it's a little cumbersome.
The back zipper placement makes more sense in purse mode, as it then becomes the top zipper. However, it's still it's hard to get into. You gain an extra pocket with the top folded over, but just be sure to keep the main zippers locked in place. With that in mind, it's too big for me to wear as a crossbody. I have a tendency to overfill, so it would be a strain on my shoulder. I would prefer to wear it as a shoulder bag, but the straps don't shorten enough to wear it as such.
I wanted to love this backpack/purse, but Pacsafe missed the mark on this one.

I love Pacsafe for their security features in a travel bag. I bought this and the Travelon Slim Backpack to compare. First off, I I love the color and the feel of the material, as well as the overall look of this backpack. I feel confident wearing it out of the country for it's complex zipper lock mechanisms. There are some things to note though:

It does however make a terrific everyday purse & sightseeing purse. Can fit my wallet, sunglasses, snacks, electronics, tissues, meds, hand sanitizer, & small sweater or rainjacket.
The straps do slide around when taking the bag on & off in backpack mode, but an easy to install fastener fixed that problem real quick.
Do not like that it folds over & covers the cute outside pocket but hopefully I’ll be able to find a way to secure the fold over to the other side ;)

Love this backpack. Bought it initially as a carryon for under the seat of the airplane, but I carry too much stuff (wallet, electronics, change of clothes, hockey jersey, & sweatshirt).

Nice, I loved it. WIll see how it works in Rome
Update: It worked great for Rome and Paris. However, I didn't like the fact that I could access it via a zip that was right on top when the bag was in crossbody mode, it made me feel very unsafe, so I locked the zips with small, locking carabiners.
Another con : the straps kept sliding around when in backpack mode, there's nothing to keep them fixed in place when you're putting it on your back, so that was rather inconvenient. Took 1 star off because of these 2 issues.
Other than that, the bag looked really good (except for the carabiners), and the magnet that kept the upper flap down worked great. It was easy to clean too. Volume - wise it was about the same as the Kipling Ravier (Medium) bag.
I liked the fact that there were no extra pockets on the sides (for water / umbrella etc). I think it kept the lines of the bag really clean and elegant, especially when in crossbody mode.

Bought this for a trip to Europe. It is more stylish than most Pacsafe bags but didn’t seem to have the level of security I expect from these bags. The zipper ‘latch’ is odd and came undone several times.
On the plus side: The lining of this bag is a gorgeous rose color. The zippers on back and front of the bag are convenient for accessing things on the go.
But: The crossbody design is created by folding over the top of the bag. Unfortunately this foldover doesn’t lie flat so looked like a folded backpack. It served its purpose for the trip but didn’t shine as either a backpack or a crossbody.

I love this bag! I have arthritis and bad shoulders so lightweight bags are key. I also travel frequently. I love this bag not only for the security features, but also because it looks so stylish in comparison to the usual look of most travel savvy bags. It does not appear frumpy in any way and can easily go from casual to elegant with the option to change from a backpack to a purse. Excellent choice if you are a traveler but don’t want to look like a tourist.

I read all of the reviews about this convertible backpack and continued shopping several times before finally coming back and ordering it. Now that it has arrived, I am pleased with my purchase.
The product description states that a lock for the interlocking zippers is not included with your purchase. This implies to me that one is needed and it is. The interlocking zippers will not be secure without it. Next I read there is a problem with sliding straps while being used as a backpack. This is the criticism that kept me shopping. It is going to be an annoyance but in the end, one I decided I could live with for the added security of a convertible backpack. It has to be convertible to a purse and I am happy with the conversion and the magnet closure.
I would recommend this convertible backpack to my friends.

Fab, but...

It is all about preferences. It is a fantastic bag. Colour is gorgeous, if you like grey. Your daily essentials like keys, wallets, iPad, etc would go into it no problem. I simply had to return because I did not like the hidden magnetic button sewn inside. I do not like having magnetic buttons on any of my bags, full stop and Amazon did not make it clear on the description, at the time of purchase. Hence the reason, I had to return it.

Brilliant travel bag, I even use it for work.
The zipper at the back of the bag is such a great way to access your items with ease whether it’s used as a crossbody bag or back pack. A reallly good size with plenty of room to put a light weight jacket and all the essentials.

This is just the right size - not too big, but holds everything we need. And although it takes a while to get used to the thief-proof fastenings that is the point, isn't it?
