Unlike the first two books in this series, Charity isn't falling in love with a CIA operative, she's hooked on a Nameless One. That's what the girls call the men who kept them captive, in the dark about what they were capable of, and experimented on them.
Tony is different, though. He feels guilt for what he did, as soon as he realized how bad things were in captivity, he wanted out, and he wants to prove himself now. Unlike the CIA guys, because his brain is so much computer, he spends a lot of time trying to be analytical. And doesn't always succeed. He's learning to dive into his emotions and embrace them.
Charity is as well, but she's not quite as eager to feel things. She likes the safety of staying removed.
As these two come together, and at the same time try and destroy the past that almost destroyed them, things really heat up. And the sex scenes in this book were the hottest yet, in my opinion.
Love this book, again. When's the next one, Ms. Gimpel?
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat all of that info here. The author did a great job of continuing the story but also recapping the first two books for new readers. The characters, new and old, are well defined and dimensional. The storyline will keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. It definitely kept me riveted and reading.
The women, the CIA team, as well as Frank and Tony are trying to work together as a team. But old habits and prejudices are difficult to overcome. Especially with Charity. She is having a hard time trusting anyone, but especially Tony since he worked in the lab. Tony and Charity are attracted to each other but can he get through her defenses?
I loved the GenTech Rebellion series and am glad there will be a couple more books to continue the storyline! I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
