Blog postAll right, children. It’s pop-quiz time! But don’t worry; I’m sure you’re all well prepared. Here goes. 1. The FDA gave full approval to the Pfizer COVID shot today (brand name Comorbidity Comirnaty). Does that mean the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson shots must immediately halt, since emergency use authorizations are only valid if no approved treatment exists? A. Yes. B. No. C. Who the &^%$# knows what the law says? Does anybody even care any more? D. The government is always right; you s6 days ago Read more

Blog postIf you’re going through hell, keep going. –Winston Churchill —– We hardly need Arnold Schwartzenegger to tell us our freedom is screwed. As determined as we freedomistas may be to uphold our mental and philosophical freedoms, our political freedoms and economic freedoms are gone-gone-gone. They’ve been going for decades of course. But we now live under a regime that in eight months has ruled via a combination of ever-shifting whim, diktat, incompetence, and a complete disregard for reason, prin1 week ago Read more

Blog postRusty* was a likeable guy. He attended neighborhood parties. He had another group of friends he met every morning for coffee. Always ready to chat, he could often be seen at the side of the road, talking with neighbors and passersby. Youngish women seemed especially fond of him, and he of them. If you needed a hand, he was there to lend it. Rusty was also smart. Clear into his 80s he had a sharp mind, a good sense of humor, and an awareness of the larger world. In his past, he’d been a private3 weeks ago Read more

Blog postI owe you a blog. I had one all planned out and intended to compose it this afternoon and evening. It was about what neighbors can — and can’t — do for each other in these strange times. Then I volunteered myself into a situation that put me in the house you see below. The first two images are the living room (if you could call it that) of a deceased neighbor’s home. The third is, I suppose, a storeroom, and reasonably orderly compared to the rest of the entire two story house. But the little b3 weeks ago Read more

Blog postI haven’t done a house-project update in a while. Partly that’s because there’s been little to show. Between my travels and The Wandering Monk trying to get out of the construction trade, projects have been few. I remember a lot of you said you like watching Ye Olde Wreck progressing over the years into Mo Saoirse Hermitage. So here’s something that’s not exactly new but is suddenly making summer progress. And it was pretty cool when it was new — last October. I didn’t tell you about this then1 month ago Read more

Blog postBy Living Freedom Forums member BearMama, with apologies to Paul Simon. (The general rule is “what happens at the forums stays at the forums, but I know in this case she won’t mind.) —– “The problem is NOT inside your head,” she said to me “There really are so many things to make you dead I’d like to help you — take this red pill, follow me There must be fifty ways to be survivin’” She said, “I know that this is what they’ll call WrongThink Furthermore, I hope you don’t see my tinfoil and call1 month ago Read more

Blog postTime for some less-seriousness. These images are all stolen from Bored Panda’s “First-World Anarchists Breaking the Rules” series, which they’ve been running on and off for years. Building ‘crats told this man he couldn’t build a garage door. So …1 month ago Read more

Blog postWho’s in denial about our current cultural and political state of collapse? Most everybody. Millions of ordinary people who think bad times are always temporary are in denial. Oligarchs and plutocrats who believe we ordinary people are eternally tractable and malleable are in denial. Intellectuals who believe increasing quantities of fashionable nonsense are in denial. Politicians and their handlers who believe they can rule by fiat without consequences are in denial. Fools who imagine “the sci1 month ago Read more

Blog postOver the years, when people have asked me, “Is it time yet, Claire?” my response has always been something like this: It may be moral to ‘shoot the bastards’ who kill freedom, but this isn’t the time. It doesn’t make tactical or strategic sense. Violence now will only make things much, much worse. That’s still my strong conviction. To any members of the Deep State trolling the ‘Net desperately searching for those elusive “domestic terrorists” they’re so determined to locate invent: I’m a useles2 months ago Read more

Blog postHappy post-Fourth of July. I hope you enjoyed what scraps of freedom you have left in these strange and parlous times. Although I left New England, I had further adventures and observations. —– In one day, my companion and I crossed five states. By road. Which sounds pretty impressive until you realize the states in that part of the world are scaled for Ken and Barbie. Did you know Delaware is 35 miles wide at its widest point (nine at its narrowest) and contains only three counties? I knew the2 months ago Read more

Once upon a time there was a town called Hardyville. Truth to tell, it wasn't much of a place. It was short on Walmarts (0). Fashion consisted mostly of Carhartts. The nearest freeway was a long, long way off ("Keeps out the riff-raff," the locals agreed.) It did have three bars and five churches (or was that five bars and three churches?) and a "young ladies academy" presided over by a watchful madame ... er, I mean headmistress. But basically it was just a dusty intersection, surrounded by ranches, located in a red-rock valley precisely 600 miles from the middle of nowhere.
Why would anybody want to read about Hardyville? you ask. Well, there are reasons. About 1776 reasons. Hardyville was (and possibly still is) home to some of the most cussedly, creatively independent, freedom-loving souls you could find anywhere. This book is about what happens when outsiders with very different ideas discover Hardyville and start moving in. Will anybody survive the monumental culture clash?

Jeremy has a dream: To be the greatest lightmaker for the greatest west coast rock band, RebelFire. But what can he do? He's just a kid. A kid trapped in a prison-like school. Trapped in a world where dreams are “treated” with drugs – and roving patrols make sure you take your dose. Trapped in the Zone, where travel without a permit is impossible. Trapped under the all-controlling eye of spycams, sensors, and monitors. Trapped by the chip in his wrist that regulates everything Jeremy can – or can't – do. Trapped in a world where some far-off control freak can even decide what music he's allowed – or forbidden – to hear. Jeremy's only choice is to shut up and do as he's ordered. But some people were never meant to be controlled ... Enter the world of "RebelFire: Out of the Gray Zone"
