I never use all-hair color anymore as this product is permanent and I use it at least every two weeks. It doesn't drip or make a mess. I leave it on longer than suggested....maybe 20 minutes. There are coupons out there and I never pay over $6.00 for it in local stores.

I am in my mid 30's and haven't used use-at-home haircolor since my teens. My hair is naturally a light mousy brown, though I lift my base color and add highlights and lowlights. Trips to the salon cost me anywhere from $100 - $350 depending one what I get done (root touchup, highlights, cut, etc).

I saw an advertisement for this product, and I figured it was worth trying because although I have a low opinion of "at home" hair color, this seemed to be so isolated, and I hate when my roots show.

I went in with low expectations.

All I can say about the results is WOW! It looks as good - even better - than when I go to the salon for a root touch up. And that costs me $100 plus at least an hour. This was - well, you can see the price, and I did it while watching TV. No time, no outing, and far less money.

My biggest concern is that I'm lazy. The thing that gets me to the salon (and I go every 4 weeks) is that my roots bug me to the point where I feel like I have no choice. While I'm there, we figure whether I need to do highlights, cut, etc. I'm actually worried now that this product is such an easy fix to the root problem that I'll start to neglect highlights and cut.

I know this review sounds ridiculously glowing - but I can't help it. I just touched up my roots tonight, and I'm still flabbergasted at the results. The dark blonde color matched great. No roots - my hair just looks so natural. I used the brush to apply to color, but then I just figured I wanted full root coverage, so I massaged the color at the base all around my scalp. I left it on for about 15 minutes even though the product says 10 (only 15 if you really need it).

This product delivers what it claims, is easy to use and saves me a bundle. I now only have to pay for 1/2 to 1/3 the number of salon colorings depending upon whether I use this product 1ce or 2ce between. Lasts about 4-6 weeks (which is a really long time for my color - red, because red fades the most of any color I am told.)

A last minute invitation sent me running to the drug store to look for a solution to cover my roots. I usually go to my hairdresser every 6 weeks or so to get this done, but with no time I looked to see what I could do myself. I was thinking of buying hair dye and just attempting my roots..pretty risky. I have a hard time just using a curling iron! That's when I came across Clairol Root touch-up! I picked out light brown, went home and did the patch test and this morning in less than 20 minutes did my hair and it looks fabulous! the color blended perfectly, and it was so easy to use. I pulled back my bangs and did that part first and then my hairline and last my part line. Not a lot of solution, but enough. I am so impressed I want to tell the world! I hope it lasts for awhile - one thing I did different was I rinsed out the product and then showered and gave my hair a quick wash. This is a great product and I will be using it again & again, it saved me so much time and $$$. Thank you Clairol!

This is great stuff. Since I've started using this a few years ago, I only dye my hair overall about 2-3 times a year. I don't care too much about the cost, but I do care about having all those harsh chemicals sitting on my head for 30-45 minutes. Using this is quick and covers the areas that need it. Be warned...there is not enough to do your whole head of roots...especially is you have long or thick hair. It's only meant to cover what may be exposed.

Not worth it. Tried this product twice and it wore off quickly. If I am going to invest the time into coloring my roots, I might as well just do my entire head with the real deal, and not waste the time with a short lived product.

I'm 58 and my natural color is now blackish brown with grey streaks. Natural color used to be auburn. When I color my hair with regular color, I have to mix 85% light brown and 15% light auburn to get red hair without pink or orange tones. But this light auburn root touch-up is perfect! Nothing but beautiful light auburn color. I no longer dread touching up my roots.

I love this root touch up. It is easy to apply and works quickly. I always leave it a minute or two to make sure it covers my grey and when I style my hair, it feels wonderful. Dying seems to give your hair extra life and thickness. I try to dye mine often. I hate grey. I don't know why God cursed us women with this above all things.
