The game itself is spectacular but you should know that it primarily online, multiplayer. There is a limited amount of single player play but team play is where the action is. In multiplayer mode, you start out in teams of 4 against 4 and must play enough to achieve high enough rank to unlock competitive play. Of that, Terrorist Hunt is the most fun (and challenging) of all.
The game is much more complex than most ordinary, first person shooters. You'll need to develop and use your stealth skills to win and rank up, as well as excel at team play.
The graphics are gorgeous and sound is integral to play. If you're a parent buying this game for your kid, make sure he/she has a good headset (preferably with a mic) or you'll be hearing this game for hours and days. Trust me - it gets old if you aren't the one playing. Otherwise, it's a great purchase because it isn't a game your child will beat and move on from in a week or two.
If you want to battle it out against AI, well you are in luck. Terrorist hunt is is all out excitement. Clearing a building chock full of baddies will keep you engaged (and frustrated) for hours on end. Playing with a solid team is a must. Communication is key. Each operator you chose has their own strength and weakness, so planning ahead is paramount.
Graphically this game is smooth, clean and pretty. The changing locales are rendered well, and effects of firefights and battles are extremely well done. Sound in this game is also used, footsteps could mean certain doom if you aren't aware. I recommend a solid headset to really bring you in.
I will continue playing this game, and will probably go back and purchase the year one content as well.
Pros: Great concept, Love that there isnt no story, campaign, but straight to the battle mode. It was fun playing against others online, team works, tactics, and being strategic. Team works is the best thing about this game and communication.
Con: The problem with the game is that it lags alot based on the servers were one is streaming through. It has nothing to do with you wifi connections majority at the time. I have a powerful fast wifi, but it is irrelevant when the server is horrible. I noticed another major BS in the game, in my intuition, i call it a script strings, were it is coded or fixed for certain team to loose a game. It has become redundant, nuisance and predictable. Also, it randomly kicks one player out by disconnecting you from the match, and sometimes from your xbox. This isn't a conspiracy, this is literally. This game is the only game that has this behaviors, compared to Halo, Titan falls and so on. It is frustrating at most times, and not motivational to play. Ubisoft does alot of updating in their in a pace slow convenience, which aren't helping the major issues described above.
The Situations are the only single player mode of the game where they give different scenarios on different maps utilizing different operators. It doesn’t take very long to complete them all on Normal difficulty as there really a crash course to help you understand the game’s mechanics so you don’t go into multiplayer not knowing how the game works. But once you get the difficulty to realistic or try to go for all the stars they make for a challenging addition to try to sharpen your skills and get the most currency you can from the mode.
The multiplayer is where you will probably spend most of your time with Rainbow Six Siege. There is the regular multiplayer lobbies that put you into 4v4 matches where one team defends and one team attacks. These were a lot of fun but I found myself finding team killers more often than I expected but I suspect competitive isn’t like this at all but you must get rank 20 to unlock competitive. When people weren’t team killing it was quite fun to play trying to infiltrate a building an extract a hostage or fortify your defenses and stalk the enemy team trying to get there way in and kill your team.
My favorite mode was Terrorist Hunt where you and a squad have to kill a certain amount of AI controlled terrorists in a specific map where you can pick the difficulty of the terrorists. The game is a lot of fun if you're looking for a more tactical and diverse fps experience because there are a lot of operators to choose and experiment with. The year 2 Gold Pass is also a nice bonus giving you discounts on microtransactions and added other added perks that added to the experience.
