Splinter Cell Lite
on June 8, 2011
IMO this is a horrible entry in the Splinter Cell franchise. The graphics are great, sound is fine. I felt like the game led me along by the hand, was too easy compared to the previous Splinter Cells, and lacked the depth of play that the first three Splinter Cells had in spades. Double Agent was ok, but I felt like I was being punished for playing with the mouse and keyboard instead of a controller. Still better than Conviction. This one has a strictly defined playing area, the camera is frustrating, you move at only two speeds, you are either hidden or not, no in between, and the story is just bad.
The wikipedia page for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell:
"Ubisoft wanted to make the fifth game more accessible, so Conviction was designed around the new core elements "Mark and Execute" and "Last Known Position", while stealth elements present in the previous games were de-emphasized. Conviction uses a cover system and adds simple interrogation sequences to the series."
And that is why I don't like this game. If you want top quality stealth action check out the first 3 Splinter Cell games, or the Thief series.
