About Clara Bowman-Jahn
Clara Bowman-Jahn worked as a registered nurse for thirty two years, finally trading that job for her true love, writing. Clara's short stories have been published in the anthology of the "Campaigner's Challenges 2011 Book," and "The 'I' Word." She is the author of "Annie's Special Day," and co-author of "Edmund Pickle Chin, A Donkey Rescue Story," both picture books.
When Clara is not writing, she tutors individuals in ESOL or English as a Second Language through her county library. She also likes taking long walks with her husband, blogging, and reading books. She is a member of the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Penn Writers, Bethesda Writer's Center and Round Hill Writer's Group. She lives in rural Loudoun County, Virginia with her brilliant linguist husband, and two cats. And she is the proud mother of two wonderful grown sons and the proud grandmother of one delightful grandson.

Blog postHi, Friends!
From my Amazon author page, I see there is no way to go to my new website. I hope this works, by putting it in the title. It is hard enough to get to my Amazon author page, no one needs to work to find my website, too.
My publisher gave me back the rights to “Annie’s Special Day” so now there is no way to buy the book except through me. I can then autograph it as well. Sometime in the future, I might self-publish it but if there is no call for it, I will most like4 years ago Read more -
Blog postSo sorry my friends to have confused you! I have received some comments saying my old post with just http://www.clarabowmanjahn was not going to my website. My website of http://www.clarabowman-jahn.com/ but instead it went to my wordpress blogging site, clarbojahn’s blog. Apparently the hyphen must be in there. I do not add new posts here but only on my web site now.
I sure do appreciate you sticking with me! Through thick and thin. And I do so want to welcome my new friends.

This does not mean I will not be doing any picture book posts but it does mean I have to start from scratch getting subscribers. I had hoped we6 years ago Read more -

Blog postHi Friends!
In our imagination we can do anything. We can climb big buildings, make millions, or become superman and fly. Or we can write for children. Russell Hoban did just that with his imagination. This book is a wonder of the imagination and reminded me of when I was a child and capable of these things.

Edmund Pickle Chin: A Donkey Rescue Story
Dec 12, 2014
$3.50
Edmund Pickle Chin, A Donkey Rescue Story is based on a true story. Edmund, the main character, is an abused donkey who is the first of many animals to call Evermay Farm, a small rescue in central Georgia, home. Susan, Edmund’s care giver in the story, not only gives the shy donkey the time and patience he needs but gives him a new name every day of the week. The title takes on one of those nicknames she so lovingly calls him. As Susan starts to take in new critters, Edmund finds himself changing. As his name grows, so does his trust and acceptance. Edmund soon learns that he is not only needed but wanted. This confused, frightened donkey’s life changes as he becomes a hero, a babysitter, and a companion to the other residents at Evermay Farm.
