Although I think this book was supposed to be read in a sequence so I'm sure it would have been even better if read in order. Still, I did not feel like I was missing anything.
There is a slight cliffhanger in the sense that you want to keep reading to find out what happens next, but it's not the obnoxious kind that you feel cheated out of an ending. I could easily stop here but I'm anxious to know how it all plays out so I will definitely be buying the rest of the series.
Thanks for the great read!
The book traveled across a continent and the time/ space continuum, yet never seemed to go anywhere. Certainly nowhere new or unpredictable. I never had any sense of real people having real, internal lives.
So, instead of going deeper, I dwelt on details: is this best termed a supernatural romance? Historical romance? Time travel adventure? Suspense story? Is the heroine sweet & naive, or just conveniently ditzy in moments that advanced or prolonged the plot.
I struggled through the whole thing and still don't know.
