I had a pair of Wallabees back in the '70s and loved them. Concerned about the fit, I called Clarks, and a guy there said since I normally wear size 10, I should buy a 9.5 in the Wallabee, so that's what I got. With normal socks, the 9.5 is a bit snug. I switched to thin, bicycling socks, and the fit is just right. I don't know if a 10 would have been better or if that would have been a tad too big, and I need a mythical size 9.75. Anyway, I'm keeping them. I think they look real sharp with jeans.
Aside from sizing, the overall quality or fit isn't as good as what I remember of those first Wallabees, four decades ago. It seems like those fit perfectly whereas these new ones are just meh.
