About the Author

Jan McCleery grew up in Utah as a Mormon geek (the story behind the "Class of '67"), then moved to California. She spent over thirty years as a technologist and software manager. In 1998, she and two partners started a software Her book, "It Starts with Idea" tells about her start-up adventure. Now, living in the California Delta, Jan has become active in efforts to save the Delta, a beautiful boating recreation area, and important fish and wildlife area in Northern California. Jan is the President of the non-profit Save the California Delta Alliance. Jan’s children’s book, “The Fable of the Farmer and the Fish,” is a story about the California water wars and the need to be good stewards of our environment.
