I have never purchased tire covers before, so I didn't have much to compare to. I ordered these covers in the 29" size and fit very nicely over my set of 4 standard 225/75/15 trailer tires. They might be a tad on the big side, but that just makes them easier to get on/off and not a big deal to me. My previous set of trailer tires were never covered and even though they lasted many years, eventually started to show signs of failure (cracking, bruises, tire rot, etc) prematurely before the tread wore out. Also the climate here is very hot and dry and it really took a toll on the old tires. Since I sprung for higher quality/load rating tires this time, I wanted to protect them!
These covers are surprisingly high quality and super soft. I can not vouch for their durability yet as I just put them on last night, but my guess is they will outlast the tires themselves. The outside is strongly waterproofed while the inside of the covers are a very soft material. I feel like I'm spoiling my tires.
The way these are designed to cover your tires is to slip over the wheels (elastic on the back around the wheel bearings) and be tied down with a rope string in the back. (See 3rd pic) That process was a little too much work rather than a zipper or Velcro or something else; I had to get down on the ground and throw the strings under the trailer to reach around. That may be too much of an inconvenience if I need to get my trailer quickly so I may resort to leaving the strings off and just trusting the elasticity on the backs to stay put. Unless there's strong winds or a storm, I don't see why they'd ever come off anyways. Maybe for long term storage? Then sure, tie those suckers down.
Overall- super happy with this purchase and for less than $40, I can get years more use out of my investments. These covers were very high quality and like I said: I feel like I'm spoiling rubber tires. Haha Thanks for reading and good luck!
My F250 has 31" diameter tires ordered both sizes 3 & 4 work. I prefer the larger (31-34) b/c I have fat (wide) tires. I also ordered size 3 ( 28-30) for my Nissan Quest Van & Suzuki Vitara SUV both with 27" diameter tires. Very happy with the fit. I haven't had time to tie yet. I will have too due to wind gusts here. So far, 3 days in holding up fine without tieing. I wish they were wider from bottom so grommets were not visible while standing in front of wheels. Quality of material appears excellent. Should last even in my 100°F+ intense Sun. No Winters here just 2 seasons. So Summer here about 10 months out of the yr. I went to Thrift store & bot some XXL shirts & will use those as 1st line of defense (placing over the new covers)
Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is due to price. Too expensive. There at least needs to be a discount for those of us buying multiple sets @ a time. I need a 5th & 6th set but due to $$ not buying more.
