About the Author
Ann Benson, one of America's foremost bead artisans, offers an array of eye-catching projects for beaded jewellery and accessories, all created from the surprisingly simple technique of beadweaving and showcased in gorgeous full-page photographs. The patterns and instructions for 50 of her most spectacular pieces use two basic methods: needleweaving, a style similar to crocheting, and bead card stitching, in which beads are sewn directly onto a patterned card. Ranging in style from Southwestern to Far Eastern, and Art Deco to Victorian, the projects include shimmering topaz earrings, a richly patterned Oriental carpet purse, a delicate ribbon pin, an exquisite purple floral belt, and much more. Every project highlights the beads' exciting colours, shapes, sizes, and textures.

When making a product from any book you buy on amazon or anywhere else its the designers designs and its copywrited by law so you can not make this butterfly in yellow and pink and say its yours just because you filled it up with seed beads, that is not truthful also you can be sued if you do this. I have written many books on bead embroidery and I have seen many others take MY DESIGNS and state it is THEIRs which its not and they are being sued because of this.
To help you continue to do a good job change the form make it yours. you know now how the process works,... make your own designs but use this to guide you, and soon you will make these lovely products.
Also a word...... do not undersell yourself, if it takes you 1500 hours to do... sell the product for 1800.00 a piece ,pay yourself no less than 20.00 an hour to make these, cause its your time that is valuable not the price.
If you are looking for weaves using traditional stitches such as peyote, brick, square, etc this is definitely not the book for you. The only weaving method demonstrated in this book, and only used for a minority of projects shown, involves stringing a series of beads and then sort of couching them back into each other.
The majority of projects in this book involve stitching beads directly to a card. Pretty enough but decidedly not "weaving". If one is interested in this sort of bead embroidery and only wants projects this book works well enough. If one is looking for an explanation of methods and things to consider when designing one's own piece there is little, if anything offered up front. Yes, it's a very simple technique, but there's always room for design advice to encourage people to experiment on their own.
* Misleading title
* Does not describe common bead weaving techniques
* No design advice or instruction
* Good if you want very simple bead craft projects
