My CC&T set is 12-15 yrs old and identical in porcelain size and gauge. These sets are very delicate in keeping with the manner of EU / UK fine porcelain service. A reviewer mentioned pieces will break if they are very cold and receive a sudden brew-hot liquid. (Only because I grew up around lots of fine porcelain, I haven't lost any pieces.) The hatbox storage is rather lightweight cardboard but keeps nicely and has been very sturdy inside as storage for the set. Finer dishware lasts best if hand-washed in warm not hot gentle suds and never in the dish washer. The cups hold just a few ounces of fluid - again, EU / UK sizing. I like CC&Ts hatbox packages - 6 cup and saucer services store in their large canary yellow hatbox under a nicely snug-fitting lid. The two sturdy satin cord handles look decorative only. The lid's gold-embossed logo has not chipped or faded. The hatbox interior is fully satin lined, with sculpted full-depth depressions (all very well-padded) for cups in clock-fashion around the center-stacked saucers. Numerous petite foam liner sheets assure protection for all pieces. The lid is also foam liner padded inside, adding protection and secure storage for the pieces. (As I said, my set is the identical gauge and size porcelain, just patterned differently: in rounded square edged cups and matching saucers, all pieces with gold-edge rims and handle spines. Mine are color assorted in the palest hues - of lilac, yellow, mauve, sand, sky, and mint). I love mine, and receive as many complements over the set as well as the container.

I had previously ordered 3 sets of the Yedi Butterfly Classic Cups and Saucers from amazon marketplace for a bridal luncheon. I loved them so much I wanted to place an order for myself. I saw these for a great price and they seemed exactly the same. There was no indication that these cups are NOT regular sized teacups. They are espresso cups and are so tiny they are difficult for even the smallest of hands to hold. They are darling in the regular size but these are too small to be used for anything EXCEPT espresso. There was no indication in the description that they were that small. I am returning them.

Much more cute in person, and less elegant. Also, TINY--think two espresso shots (or an Italian espresso cup), maybe. If you've got large or thick fingers, you have no chance using the delicate little handles. I had a play tea-set when I was a child that was about this size. Luckily, my mother and I are tiny people, so this is okay if we just want to sip--my brothers and step-father's hands swamp the cup.

But, they're very cute. Put something strong in these, or use them as little dessert cups (Less than an ice cream scoop). Don't expect to quench your thirst or anything from these.

I saw these in a thrift store BRAND NEW, so I bought them. They lasted all of maybe a month when one cracked from having hot coffee poured in. This is a shame!
