While the book has a fair amount of valuable information, it doesn't go much beyond what I just learned in special ed credential classes. I was hoping for more. I would love to see pictures of autism classrooms for different ages (I teach middle school) and how teachers set up the room. I assumed that would be in this book. That would be valuable. I assumed wrong.

As for the title of my review, the entire book is printed backwards. As in, you open the cover, and it's the end of the book and it's also upside down. How did this pass inspection and then sell for over $20? Nobody noticed? If I really loved the book, I guess I would find a way to live with it, but I feel that it is a waste of money.

I purchased this book as a gift for my wife who is a special educator. The book was so interesting to her that she read the entire book in two days. It is full of good information, and she will use it as a resource guide for her classroom. This book would also make a great supplimental book/ guide for college students looking to become special educators. It is a great resource whether you are new to teaching children with autism or if you are a veteran. This book not only provides great ideas for setting up your classroom but also outlines the fundamentals and techniques needed to create a structured learning environment. It is definately a good read!

This book was very useful in setting up my Life Skills classroom. There are a lot of useful graphics and checklist, so I recommend if you want this book to get the print copy. I regret ordering the Kindle book because it's so excellent, but I can't use the checklists and other things I need to print. Really makes everything step-by-step for people who might forget something.

I am a first year special education teacher and this book has answered many of my questions and reminded me of some basic things regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders. I think it's an excellent resource that I will be using throughout my new career!
