Sentry Alarm Mines by No.26 Forge are SAFE and AFFORDABLE to use. They work like a Ramset concrete nail gun but WILL NOT AND CANNOT FIRE LIVE AMMUNITION. When tripped, they produce a loud "bang". 12 lb. to 15 lb. mono-filament fishing line is recommended since it will trip the alarm and break off at the knot with increased tension. Ground mount AND wall mount features make this the #1 alarm mine available anywhere. NOBODY'S GOING TO SNEEK UP ON YOU WITH A SENTRY ALARM MINE ON DUTY!

This trap did not get five starts for two reasons. The first is the size. If you really want to set up a perimeter you would need to carry multiple alarms and the size just does not make it easy to keep in a pack. A drilled hole with a pin would take up less space than the post with a washer welded to it making the trap a little more narrow. The second reason was after I fired the first shell I had to drill a small hole in the bottom of the trap so I could push the shell out. There was no way to get a hold on the back of the shell to pull it out.
If you wanted to use this on your property to protect something or potentially scare off a would be thief, this trap would probably work well and you could use a less powerful shell that would not expand as much. If you want to use a #4 or #5 shell you will most likely have to drill a hole in the bottom of the trap to get the shell out. The directions may state this but because of all the tape on the envelope the trap showed up in I had to destroy the envelope to get it open. Little did I know the directions were unfolded and were destroyed with the envelope. If you want to use trap in a simulated or real tactical situation it will work, but you would have to deal with the size and weight to carry multiple of these around to defend a perimeter.
Bottom line, It works but I don't think I will purchase more for $30.
Works great used with camo tripwire.
Seeing the state of affairs in this country I thought is might come in handy. Just had a hurricane blow through and lost power for almost 4 days. And yea, people tried to take advantage of the situation in other towns. Nothing here but it was nice to know I had a way to tell if intruders were near.
