I was getting ready to buy another Furminator to replace the one my Yorkie-Chon has apparently hidden, when I saw this. I decided to give it a try since the "teeth" are rounded instead pointy, and I'm suspicious the Furminator disappeared because my Yorkie-Chon hated the way it felt. I was very impressed with the way the Shedzilla worked. It got rid of a LOT of hair in a small amount of time, and seemed to detangle my dog a little better than the Furminator. I also think my Yorkie-Chon found it more tolerable. I still think the Furminator is a good product, but I like Shedzilla better!

I'm a groomer, and I had been using the furminator, until someone in my salon tried this out. This tool gets out more hair, and is safer to use. (And it's half the price of the furminator!) It is comparable to the Mars Coat King (nothing tops that IMHO) however, again, it is way cheaper than the coat king. I've used the other off brand coat king shedding/stripping tools and the teeth seem to be bent in just the wrong way so that they don't get much hair out. This tool works on a variety of coats and gets a ton of hair out. Love this tool!

While I was at WalMart today I decided to look for a cat brush. I considered buying one of the cheaper $3 brushes that were displayed then I ran across the Shedzilla for $8.37. First I saw the "as seen on TV" claim followed by "reduces shedding by 90%"...and to be honest, I wasn't sold. So..I immediately did a search for reviews of the item on my cell phone while standing right in the aisle. I found that almost everyone gave it 5 stars so I though I would try it out. As soon as I got home, I ripped the package open and tried it on one of my cats (the one who sheds the most). I was immediately impressed. It pulled so much fur off of my cat, not only did he look skinnier, I think I created another one. What I like about it is that it pulls the fur from underneath. I just wish that he would sit still long enough for me to keep doing it so I have to give him a break. It doesn't seem to be hurting him at all, he just gets annoyed pretty easily. I think the cat brush would work fine on a smaller dog otherwise you will be paying $19.98 for the dog brush which looked just a little wider than the cat one. Excellent buy if you have pets that shed a lot.

I am a pet groomer, and this is the best home product I have seen. I have a foxhound and this product not only shed him quick but cleaned the dirt out of the coat as well. Didn't do as well on short coated animals including my cats. But I would recommend this product overwhelmingly!

This thing really works. I bought it because the blades looked like they wouldn't irritate my dog's skin. The round blades run through her coat like butter and pull out mounds of fur. I showed it to my groomer and she said she's been using a shed rake this for years. You can use it to gently pull thru mats and tangles and I used it on my neighbors cat - which worked like a charm!

We have a Belgian Malinois mix so his coat gets THICK during the winter and of course ends up everywhere when he sheds. I've tried different avenues in helping to reduce finding his fur in my coffee, food, clothes, tooth brush, etc. Nothing has really worked and I hate having to spend a ton at the local groomer. One day while running through WalMart I stopped in the pet section to grab yet ANOTHER brush to brush him out with. We go through brushes like water around here. Wouldn't you know it the shelves were empty but the ShedZilla was there. I figured what hte heck can't be any worse then any other trick we've tried.

Boy was I wrong. Immediately starting seeing results in his coat. Normally it's a battle to get him to sit for a brushing because he knows just how long it takes. But I was done in about 10 minutes and had a store bag FILLED with fur. Waited 6 weeks or so and used the ShedZilla again on his coat. Fabulous and quick again.

Here we are getting ready to head into Spring and just running your hands through his coat you can feel the difference. Our hands aren't attacked with a million loose dog hairs, the floors are cleaner, and his coat looks amazing.

I had my eye on a ShedZilla and/or a Furminator for awhile to help with my cat's shedding. (She's a DSH). I tracked down a few friends of mine that actually had a furminator or a shedzilla. They let me use theirs to try. There wasn't much difference between either or. My cat dislikes being brushed for long periods of time no matter how gentle you are.
I was going to buy a Shedzilla because, why pay more right? When I talked with a friend who told me to try her cat's shedding blade. At first I wondered how on earth such a thing could help get my cat's horrible undercoat under control. But I tried it at home, boy should I have started outside. With only a few short strokes, I had a hairball the size of a guinea pig! I took her outside to finish the process and she put up with it really well, with hardly any fussing at all until it had been over an hour. The blade got a ton of fur out that both the furminator and shedzilla had missed. My cat's fur has never felt so soft and I can tell she feels a lot better.
All in all, if you don't want to buy a general shedding blade (can be found in just about any pet store, I bought my at Petsmart), I'd stick with the Shedzilla just because it's cheaper than the Furminator and the results for me between the two were pretty much the same.
