You're serious about leaving no trace behind when you car and canoe camp, or perhaps you're just not particularly stoked about crouching and losing your balance while taking a crap in the great outdoors. We're pleased to present the Cleanwaste Portable Toilet. This plastic toilet unfolds from a briefcase-sized block into the same height and bowl dimensions as a standard toilet. A removable mesh holder supports the waste-collection bag, and the biodegradable bag uses eco-friendly powder to turn liquid waste into an odorless solid. The lid protects the seat during the night and removes for stability under the legs when you set up on soft ground. * Includes one waste-bag kit.

Before purchasing I looked on YouTube to see how the GO works. At least one of the demos is hilarious.
The GO is very well designed. It's sturdy and comfortable to sit on, and the rim under the seat where you tuck the plastic bag ensures that the bag's edges stay clean. The net that supports the bag is removable. Unfolding the legs to set up the toilet is easy. They are a bit stiff to fold back down, but that's OK. You don't want the toilet to collapse, and I'm able to refold the legs without using tools.
Buying Cleanwaste bags all the time would get expensive and make the P-P a far more economical option. So I experimented at home with a couple of the alternatives suggested by other reviewers:
13 gallon trash bag with cat litter: maybe I didn't use enough litter. Extremely agricultural odor! No, no, no.... Besides, a sack of cat litter takes up as much camper space as the P-P.
13 gallon trash bag with a scoop of Happy Camper powder (similar to Poo Powder, I had it already) in the bag before use: Happy Camper is designed to be used in water in the P-P's holding tank, so I put toilet paper on top of the deposit and wet the paper with a small glass of water. Very faint odor at first, no odor at all after about 20 minutes. Chemically assisted trash bags seem to be a viable option.
A couple of used 13 gallon trash bags fit easily into a 2.5 gallon zipped freezer bag for disposal. Effective against odor and leaks, but not environmentally friendly.
Comparing the GO and P-P, the GO is simpler if you don't mind reusing swampy plastic bags. Cleanup is easy, but has to be done often. The P-P is nicer to use because deposits conveniently disappear into the cassette tank below. Less frequent in-transit disposal, but more thorough cleanup is required at the end of the trip. Pros and cons are about equal as far as I'm concerned.
Any sensible person would have assembled the unused GO in the camper before trying it. But I'd measured using the website dimensions and it was supposed to fit! And nobody said I was sensible. Folded, the GO fit easily into the Porta-Potti space in my camper. But open it was about an inch too wide to slide back into that space. The flared legs (so necessary for stability) were to blame. I don't want a camper toilet that I have to dismantle after each use or step over in the aisle. So the P-P will ride again....
Although the GO does not work for my camper, I'm still a fan. It's an excellent option for tent camping and I'll keep it with my emergency supplies. Besides, I'd feel bad returning a used toilet.
Construction is 5-star. I'm deducting one star for the lack of more specific pre-purchase measurements. If you want to slide it away assembled it needs a space 18" W x 20" L x 14.5 H. But if you aren't trying to stuff it into a tiny space, it's great!
Although the legs are a little difficult to retract, they eventually do return to their original folded position for storage.
While traditional hurricane prep advice states, "have supplies on hand for three days", we were stuck in our house for 12 days.
Therefore, I would highly recommend this product as an essential part of any hurricane prep kit...because if you experience significant flooding, as we did, the water may overwhelm existing sewage drainage, and portable potties may be your only option. I would give this product 10 STARS!!!!
