The reason why I took off a star is that plants will not develop as much as they should, and they will die sooner than they should, simply because their roots have no room to grow in the small growing pods. For someone who loves plants like I do, it is upsetting to see them die when they could thrive much longer. This is easy to correct if you use perforated cups, which Click and Grow theoretically sells. However, for the past 4 months I tried to buy such cups and they are never in stock!

Some suggestions:
1) If your plants are growing too close to the grow lights, consider buying extension arms (1 set) directly from Click and Grow. Inexpensive. I don't think the extension arms are sold on Amazon.
2) The official Click and Grow website seems to have more variety of pods than through Amazon. Check it out, same price, but you may have to pay for shipping.
3) Had an issue with mold and, while they say it's harmless, it just doesn't look very nice. I gently scraped it off, pulled the plant cups from the garden (keeping the pods/plants in the cups) to dry out over night and sprinkled ground cinnamon on the cup opening where the soil is exposed and popped them back in. This was on the website (you can dry them out 1-2 days) and seems to be working. Will follow another reviewer's advice to put damp rid near the garden.
With being home so much due to pandemic, it has been a joy to watch them grow from seeds and enjoy tasty herbs and veg. And it'll be wonderful to have things green and growing during the winter. Have little direct sunlight in this house, so growing thing indoors has been hard. Not anymore!
Every morning my kid and I look excitedly for the latest plant development (literally) - what's sprouted, what the leaves and stems look like, how they grow. It's pretty exciting, and educational.
The herbs all sprouted but cilantro (which is a known finicky plant to sprout). The lettuce grew so fast and so high! It was the monster crowding out other plants, so I popped its pod out using the label tab, and swapped with another plant. It was that easy! I bought a small packet of cilantro seeds and added them to the lagging cilantro pod and - whether it was the old or new seeds I don't know - soon had little seedlings. The dwarf pea plant was throwing out little vine tendrils so I taped a green ribbon over the grow light bar and to the pod, as a mini trellis - good thing it's getting huge and would crowd the other plants, and this way it is growing how it likes.
Their customer service pinged me to check up on how it was working and anything they could do. (Excellent customer support!) I appreciated that touch, and felt like they really cared about making sure customers were happy.
I had tried the AeroGarden, but it was bulky - taking up counter space - and ugly and stopped working. The Click and Grow has much more minimal lights, which I believe is LED or something similarly low power draw.
In short, I love the Click and Grow Garden!

I live downtown and have always wanted a garden but don't have the space and can't dedicate the time. When I read the criticisms around this product, it mostly comes from true gardeners; this is not a replacement for a gardener and obviously won't compare to the real deal. I read about 'stunted plants because of lack of room for root growth' - this is not meant to be a forever garden or for re-planting. The plants last max around 90 days from my experience. You should be aware of what your buying, it's a nice little fix for the city dweller.. and it really does do the trick for those of us who can't keep plants going to save our lives!
I use the app and it gives me the piece of mind (as a non-gardener), that it's not me, the plant need x-amount of time. The only criticism I'd have is that it'd be nice if they publicized the plant's longevity/bundled those that are similar; it'd be nice to have that info ahead of time so I can buy plants with the same lifecycle so some aren't at peak while others are maturing. Not a big deal to many, I know. But if you're away for a while, I would buy a plant with a longer lifecycle so I could enjoy it more.
Excellent product, it's so nice to wake up and see the daily progress and progress over time with minimal effort (literally just need to add water every few weeks) and have edible plants! I've killed so many basil plants from being away too long and now I'm free from worry and have the peace of mind to travel and have the (mini) garden I always wanted!

It's a fun toy to play with when you're like me; any plant I touch usually turns brown in a matter of days. But with this toy, I can either use the pods they sell (extremely expensive) or use proper potting soil and seeds to easily grow herbs, small veggies or flowers. So far, other than Click and Grow pods, I made parsley, dill, hot peppers and lavender all without effort. Of course I also used some Click and Grow pods for mini tomatoes (which I'm still waiting for the fruits to be ready 2 months after planting them), basil which is great but I moved it to a separate pot otherwise it takes the place of 3 spots, and other Click and Grow pods.
So why only 3 stars? The size as described above and also the "timer" function. For the price they're selling this thing, it could be a bit more sophisticated. You have to plug the garden in a wall outlet around 5 or 6 am and it will enter a cycle of 16 hours of light and 8 hours of darkness. If the electrical grid fails, you have to unplug the garden and plug it again at the right time of day. I think that for the price, they could have had at the very least a small control panel with a clock to program the garden, backed up by a small battery, or even better, a Bluetooth or WiFi connection with a simple app. Hence only 2 stars for "Value for money".

Once the tomatoes start growing out, you will actually get quite a number - currently this is perfect for a couple. Next i’m Planning on just planting different types of lettuce and hopefully I Don’t need to get much store bought lettuce. So yes it’s not yet as practical (until I plant things I will actually eat frequently!)
Also it’s been over 4 months, the basil plant does die off eventually, next it looks like the tomato plants will die off as the weight of the tomatoes just brings the whole plant down! Perhaps if you care for it more than I do, they could survive longer - I am going to try to see if these could be replanted to another pot. I’ll update on that. Strawberries are still going strong (and a few tomato plants are still bearing new flowers!)
