Joel Comm is a pretty famous internet marketer and promoter of himself and others. He has written an interesting history of how numerous people have made their mark on the evolution of internet marketing and what they have succeeded in marketing via the internet.
If you don't know who any of the marketers are when you first read this you can just skim over their names and learn about the concepts, like ebooks, autoresponders, squeeze pages, pay-per-click, affiliates, pop-ins, teleseminars, dashboards, opt-ins, one time offers, copywriting, list building, and more.
There is an index in the back of the book to help you find topics. There is also an extensive directory of people mentioned throughout the book with their web addresses, as well as information about how to see this directory online, as it's updated.
Mr. Comm is thorough in his work. If a person is completely new to internet marketing, the dozens of people in this book are the masters to learn from. Bottom line: buy this because these people are the real deal. If you have ever been scammed, buy this book and learn the ropes so you can avoid future mistakes and detours.
But internet business has changed so much that while these stories of early successful online marketers were entertaining, they didn't hold a whole lot of concrete, specific insights to take away.
In addition, the paths to success were so circuitous that it often felt like listening to a rambling person at a party - you find them interesting but would they just cut to the chase already.
If you are at the point where you are devouring info on successful people so you can feel a connection with other people who are a success, then this is a great book to read. If you're looking for specific takeaways, beyond just the biggest concepts (automate, don't give up, etc), then try Blog Blazers or Problogger instead.
I enjoyed the walk down history lane in the relatively short existence of internet marketing, along with all the real-life tales of ordinary men (and women!) who created *extraordinary* success doing what most people don't do: PERSIST!!
(Just a tidbit of feedback on the Kindle version: the TOC isn't all linked fully making navigation a tad challenging. Plus, the amazing directory of Internet Marketers at the back doesn't format properly for Kindle. Oh well <sigh> I just may have to buy the print version too! LOL)
This book begins with a history of the Internet and then progresses to inspiring case studies. These are real-life examples of major players who have been incredibly successful by following their passion. By reading this book you can learn some of the secrets of creating good content and find out some hot tips about list building. There is a revealing chapter on spam and information on the real "father of the Internet."
The history of the Internet is a highlight of the book but the list of Internet Marketers and their websites is worth the price of the book. Perry Marshall, Rich Schefren, Jay Abraham and John Carlton are all mentioned.
Reading "Click Here To Order" reminded me of the day I noticed my millionth site visitor so I know it is possible. To me, it isn't about making a lot of money it is about helping the world to find great books but my site pays for itself. "Click Here To Order" will give you an inside look at what it takes to make your own site a success. Whether you are looking for name recognition, a million dollars or you want to raise money for your favorite charity, this book has a lot of inspiring stories to motivate you towards your goal.

Okay, I had to preface this because I wanted you to understand that this book is really that good. But, if you are not a teacher or interested in reading about the history of the Internet and specifically about Information Marketing then don't buy this book.
I am a teacher and love history. I was enthralled and fascinated with the stories about the pioneers of online marketing. What a great book and an inspiration to all of us.
Joel Comm does a great job here in setting the record straight and letting us know that it was not that easy. There will always be those who use the excuse "It was easier for the Guru's when this was all new".
Two thumbs up on this one and that is hard to get from me. You will have to read the book to know what it was really like when they got their start.
