I gave this to my boyfriend, who can't set his keys down for an hour without loosing them. They work great for finding the keys when we are in a hurry. The beeping is loud enough to be heard, but the tv has to be off and if there is other noise it can be difficult to locate, especially if it is under a pillow or something.

It has only been four months and i've noticed that the recievers are starting to wear down. I don't think they are built well enough stand up to being in a pocket all day long or thrown on the table day after day afer day.

The idea is really good and has proven very helpful, but they are not a life-long type of product and will need replacing soon. This product would be better for someone who is gentle on their stuff.

I really needed some sort of device that would assist me in locating my keys because I simply misplace them all the time. Almost always they are in the exact spot I would never think of looking. I bought these because I thought they would expedite this common problem and they did just that.

Although I can not say that these are the loudest devices you can put on your keychains, but they certainty do work. I would suggest, however, that you not try to use these when there is a LOT of noise around. The range is excellent - it was able to penetrate more than three layers of walls within my house and over a range of 30 feeet. (Although I have not tested it at a longer length)

Bottom line is, if you're looking for a gadget to help you find lost items/keys, this worked for me and so I should see no reason why it won't for you.

These receivers have no range and the battery life is horrendous. Just to test them out, I hid my key underneath a couch cushion and activated the receiver from about 30 feet away... nothing, then moving a little closer to try again... nothing. Then I sat ON the couch and pointed it at the cushion where my keys were hiding... still nothing. The only way I was able to get it to work was by holding both my keys and the receiver up in the air about a foot apart and activating it. Terrible experience with this product overall and I'm hoping for a return.

Seemed to work when I first tested them out, but 2 weeks later when my husband lost his keys they were no help at all. And 2 months later when I tested them again, I had to be within about 12 inches before it would beep. If I'm that close to a lost key, I'll probably see it before the beep ever goes off. Sadly, kind of a waste of money.

The product seems a bit cheaper than I expected. From the packaging and such, it's along the lines of something you'd find at a flea market or one of those dollar stores. In any case, I put it on my and my wife's keychains and tested things out. Everything seemed to work with about an 8 foot range or so. About a month later, my wife misplaced her keys and I tried using this device. After a half hour of searching, we found her keys in a spot that I had already run the device over. I tested further and found that both keychains were no longer responding. Maybe it's a battery issue but if you have to remember to change them monthly, you might as well just try to remember where your keys are.

I got this keyfinder 4 months ago and I haven't really used it much. Now that I really need it, it's out of batteries and I can't find my keys. I would think the batteries would last longer, especially since I haven't really used it.

Adding to my review: I just checked the item again. Now they provide free extra batteries with the purchase!! I wonder why.

Here's the deal... I have a 1 1/2 year old, I own a car, and I'm not the most organized person in the world. Any 2 combination of these facts leads to the scenario where I'm ready to leave the house and realize I can't find my keys (or work security badge) right before I'm about to head out the door. It was funny the first few times I realized my son had put my keys in my shoe, or in some cabinet somewhere... but it quickly got old!

This product has saved me from being late on a few occasions and that's pretty much why I got it, so good job. But the thing feels like it's ready to stop working at any minute. Right out of the box one of the units was buggy and responding only intermittently to the transmitter. It seemed to start working normally after a while, but just the other day it started beeping for no reason while I was at work. The beeps also sometimes sound like they're dying or flickering in and out. As other people have said, it's not super loud, but if I'm in the general vicinity and the TV is off, I can usually hear it. Otherwise I just walk around the house until I get closer.

It works, but let's just say my confidence in that continuing to be the case for much longer is never quite there..

EDIT:
Dropping down to 1 star. Almost gave it 2 for at least holding out for 5 months, but even in that 5 months it was pretty hit or miss. The thing was good overall for the initial few months that it worked when I needed it, but craped out 100% within 5 months..now it's just a piece of plastic that does nothing...and it wasn't the battery. If it cost like 5-10 bucks I wouldn't mind replacing it every once in a while, but I think this thing is just low quality crap.
