Super easy, simple and it works! Finally something you just plug in and it knows what to do. Love it!

The first backup can take a considerable amount of time because it is saving ever bit of information on your hard drive. If you have a large hard drive just start it as you go to bed and you are ready to go by the time you wake up. After the first backup it scans for changes and only updates those changes so it is considerably faster the second time. Example, mine took 7 hours on first back up and 45 minutes there after.

HIGHLY recommended.

I have a C2 and was anxious to get the C6 so that I could do a system image on my two computers. I was hesitant after reading all the negative reviews online. Then I called Clickfree and was told by a very helpful customer service rep that the software issues had been addressed and I should go ahead with confidence that it would work well. I did and it turns out to works flawlessly. I added two 3.0 USB ports to my desktop and that really cut the time to backup up my hard drive (versus 2.0). It took 90 minutes to backuo 82 GB. I'm very pleased that Clickfree got on top of the issues with this external hard drive. It could not have been easier. My only "con" is that the USB cord is only 20 inches long. I ordered a 3' high speed USB cord for around $8 on Amazon (with free shipping), so not much effort to remedy my issue. I highly recommend the Clickfree C6.

I am 65 years old and remember using the old manual typewriters. I'm not very computer literate at my age now, but I wanted a way to back up my whole computer if anything went wrong. My life is in my computer - everything from medical stuff to spreadsheets. This gizmo worked fine, and I hope I never have a computer crash. But, if I DO, then I'll know that everything can be restored. Took about 3 hours to back up 99GBs.

The only gripe I have is that the directions that are sent are scanty and are written in about 20 different languages. To find out how to do all the things this C6 can do, one has to find and download the .pdf file which is user friendly and is in English.

I've gotten so frustrated with this device that I'm not even using it - or them, rather, since I bought two. When I connect it to a computer for which it already has a back-up the drive will "hang" in the searching mode .... for at least 24 hours which is the longest I've let it. I've spoken with Clickfree about this, who has me uninstall everything related to it and start all over. The big problem with this is that when you then connect the drive to the computer again it sees it as a "new" computer - usually giving it the same name - and so instead of doing an incremental backup which shouldn't take long it starts doing a full backup from scratch which always takes hours for the first run-through. Not only that but it takes up a an additional big chunk of the drive space, so you need to keep deleting the prior "full backups of each new computer" which SHOULD be a single, incremental backup of ONE computer. So it's a constant round of doing the "first" backup, uninstalling and reinstalling it all, doing another "first" backup, deleting the original first backup ...... and repeat endlessly. And I paid for TWO of these things, which BOTH function the same way on ALL of my computers.

I purchased this item because I was so frustrated with my Passport back-up drive and how confusing it was to use. I want simplicity and I got it with this unit. The passport doesn't back up your windows or Office programs either. I found the plug and go Click-free was just what I needed. First I backed up my computer, quickly and easily,(1st run takes longer), then backed up my wife's laptop and it was so easy. Then I can leave it on my computer for repeat update back-ups per my schedule. Once a month I'll plug in the laptop to keep that computer's files up to date. If you want ease of use, along with more back up than other units, you can't miss with this unit. I highly recommend it!

Before upgrading from Vista to Win7 I wanted to take an image of my PC in case of a problem with the upgrade. I had no problem connecting, starting the imaging process and it was much faster than I had anticipated. My upgrade went without a hitch but I wasn't worried either. I highly recommend this product. Very easy to use and understand.

I was a little worried about purchasing this device with some of the negative reviews, but, I am gald I did. I connected it to my new HP desktop computer via a USB 2.0 port. The computer recognized the device immediately and the device software started up and started performing a backup. The initial backup only took about 45 min.(much shorter time frame than it said it would take). Device said it had backup ALL files SUCCESSFULLY, however it seemed to me, that the saved files should have taken up more space on the device than it had. So I checked the Windows 7 backup program. It said that it could not leave a SYSTEM IMAGE to an portable external device?? However - I was successful in creating a system image by leaving the device connected - going to the Start menu - CLK control panel - CLK Backup and Restore - CLK Create a systm image (upper left corner) - when a window opens up choose the Click free device - CLK next and a new window opens and says the OS (operating system) and HP_Recovery files will be sent to the Clickfree device - CLK next and let Windows update your device with the system image. DONE! Worked perfectly!
I also read the review on CNET (reviews.cnet.com) for this device, they had an excellent review/information to offer - including how to reboot your computer to this device if needed (for instance- do not use a USB 3.0 port for rebooting ONLY use a USB 2.0 port). You might want to check it out.
All in all I am VERY satisfied with this purchase.
