It provides a doctor not trained in acupuncture with a small manual from which he will get a bird's-eye view of acupuncture. to a novice coming fresh from the acupuncture training centres a good support in his practice, and to an experienced acupuncturist a perfect reference book. The authors have added all the advances in acupuncture in this new edition to cover the whole subject in more details.

A chapter on materials and methods and a chapter on definitions of various terms of acupuncture are added in the first part of this book. In the first part. meridians and collaterals are also included where importance is given only to the frequently used acupuncture points of various meridians. and their practical applicability. i.e. twelve paired meridians. two unpaired meridians and extra-ordinary acupuncture points. A brief discussion of the important acupuncture points of ear (ear acupuncture) are also added.

In the next part of the book - acupuncture therapeutics. a general consideration of the diseases amenable to acupuncture therapy with various problems associated with the diseases are discussed elaborately. Moreover, discussion of the various aetiological factors syndromes associated with diseases are included in this book.
