These clip-n-seal clips absolutely work. Not only do they work, but they are absurdly simple and whoever invented them is probably going to become a millionaire.
What you'll receive is a clear bag with a bunch of slightly translucent white strips of plastic. No instructions. No other packaging. There are two parts to the system. One part is a plastic dowel. The other part is a wider plastic u-shaped strip.
To use, you simply place the round dowel on one side of your bag (say, a bag of chips) and then take one of the u-shaped pieces and place it on the other side of the bag. Then you press them together so that the dowel snaps into the recessed part of the other strip. The bag is caught extremely tightly between them. Once you have these snapped on, nothing is getting in or out of that bag!
They are simple to snap together and to unsnap when you want to retrieve something from a bag. I can't imagine most people would find them difficult to use, except those with only the most restricted use of their hands.
I definitely plan to buy more of these. For the price, there's no reason I should ever return to those plastic spring clips you get at the grocery store.
They can be stored in a narrow drawer. (Being in a tiny apartment, with a Barbie-sized kitchen, I have those drawers.) Unlike chip clips, they not only do not turn into a mess, the have no parts to break. There will never be a spring from these flying across a room.
There's two pieces, a rod and a clip. They are a little hard to take apart and get together the first few times, but don't give up. Once they are clipped together on a bag, they fold down the top of the bag very neatly. If a critter could get into a bag sealed with one of these, they've earned it, or they were already in it.
Always start closing the clip from one of the ends and move across, and be patient. It takes a couple goes to get the feel for it. (I know it sounds silly to say you have to learn, but there you are.)
The great thing about this size is that they're long enough to be cut down for narrower bags. (Keep in mind that the clip is longer than the rod if you choose to do this! Snap them together first and then cut them.)
For what these clips will save you in spoiled, stale or infested food, they are a stone bargain.
I've quilted a few quilts with this system and it's the easiest, quickest, safest way to perpare for quilting. No more pins to get lost in the carpeting.
A GREAT product!
