The idea about a girl who traveled back in time came to me in a dream, and soon afterward Casey Donovan was born. I'd just moved back to British Columbia, Canada after spending a year in Boston, so naturally Boston was my go-to setting. Plus, there's just so much great history to delve into there!
Casey's just trying to get through high school, which isn't easy at the best of time, but infinitely more complicated if you also fall back in time without warning. She's become adept and resourceful over the years, strong and independent, but all of her experience and level-headedness goes out the window when she accidentally takes her secret crush, the cute and popular Nate Mackenzie, with her. Awkward.
